Tuesdays With Tag - A Play Date...

You know how it is with boys. They start by checking each other out. Sizing each other up. Even if it's a four month old macho Corgi and a thirteen week old Labrador on his own turf. You've gotta know who the other fella is.
The youngster is a little nervous. Perhaps if he puts a little hardware between himself and the tough kid. Yeah, that one. The one with the little tail nub up in the air. Little Mr. Cocky Pants.
Before you know it, the youngster is bouncing around, wagging his tail, telling a few jokes that only they understand. The Corgi admires his spunk.
The kid doesn't have anything to worry about. The Corgi just loves to play and the Labrador is just his kind of playmate. The bouncy, silly, run-around-til-your-tongue-hangs-out kind.
The Clash of the Canines. No harm, no foul. No furniture destroyed. No lamps broken. Just good, clean fun.
Of course, when all the posturing and playing is over, it just comes down to two guys, bellied up to the bar, sharing a drink.

(I can't stand it! Don't you just love that bunny butt?)
PS. Just for the record...The Labrador is NOT a new Brynwood dog.

  5. How fun!! I can just see these two chasing each other in circles.

Did I ever tell you about the time Porky (Lauries dog when she was growing up) had a playdate with Harley. They ran round and round the big tree, Harley chasing Porky. Porkey expanded the circle little by little. Then just and the right time, he veered to the left and before Harley knew it, Porky ran off while Harley landed in the pond. Thanks for bringing back a great memory.

  16. Hi Donna, Thanks for stopping by and yes Friday is the big day. It is a day my family is enjoying telling me that I will be 70 on that day. I love your post today and the black lab reminds me of one we had when I was growing up. My uncle told my dad it would just be a little dog. Right. We have had some cooler weather for which I am very thankful. Take care my friend. Your Missouri Friend.
