Loving Hartfield And The Vanilla Extract Winner...

I have this wonderful assortment of fabrics...yet another collection calling to me. I'm nearly finished adding the borders to the Love Birds Applique' quilt, and already, I'm itchy to start another.

Perhaps, I should find out if there is a vaccination for this affliction? I know it doesn't help to just lie down and hope that "it" goes away. The feeling never passes. I love sewing. I love creating quilts. I love the color play of fabrics. I could roll around in them all day. Well, maybe not roll. I'd have to refold everything...and get the dog hair off them...and rearrange the cabinets, color coordinated and all... No, I don't really mean roll, but you get the idea.
This is the pattern that came in the kit with all those gorgeous fabrics. I'm really loving Hartfield, the quilt. I know I'll have to add this project to my list. Gee. I guess I need to make a list. You know, a schedule so I know which one I'll be working on next. Would that be too...oh, I don't know...anal? Should I be more spontaneous? I guess I'll just try lying down again for a while. I'll let you know if it helps.
Time for me to reveal the name I drew for the Vanilla Extract.
The Winner of my Vanilla Extract Giveaway is...
#27
Natalie of Hungry Hippie
Congratulations, Natalie!
Your vanilla will be on its way next week!

I you haven't visited Natalie's blog before, you need to stop over and explore. I recently found out that Natalie is my partner in the Victorian Cuff Swap and I'm currently creating my cuff for her. She is a seamstress extraordinaire...and a pretty lass to boot! Click on her name above to stop in and say "hello".

My sister, Diana and I had contemplated putting a little of my vanilla into a small bottle for everyone who left a comment, but as the numbers grew, we knew it might get a little expensive to do. I really wish that I could have shared this with each and every one of you for leaving such kind and thoughtful messages for me. I hope you're all able to make a bit of your own vanilla from my tutorial, and that you might think of it as a gift from my heart to yours.

Great stack of fabrics! The quilt will be beautiful! I have discovered the cure for loving to sew... it's called too much overtime on my day job! I'm so tired by the time evening rolls around that I can't sew anymore.
Hopefuly that will change though!

Your vanilla looks delightful.

Have a good holiday weekend!

I am afraid that I may have been hit with this "affliction" also. But I am not in a real hurry to remedy the situation as of yet. Maybe a good nap would help calm it down a bit though. I will have to try that too.

CONGRATS TO NATALIE!!!

Donna, you get more accomplished that 10 people! I am constantly amazed! What do you do with all your quilts? I have a hard time giving them away but really, how many quilts does one person need? lol

Just went to the fabric store yesterday and, of course, bought more fabric! Now that the weather is getting cooler and the work outside is getting less time consuming, I hope to sew up a storm!

Have a safe and happy long weekend!

If ONLY my addictions were limited to fabrics! Ribbons, flowers, papers, dresden,,,and on and on. At least you focus on ONE thing for the most part Donna!

My son recently came down in my studio while I was working (on 8 things at once) and said, "Wow, mom, you've got a LOT of STUFF in here!" Understatement! (Not to mention the sewing machine is back UP stairs on the breakfast nook!) oops!

Enjoy your weekend my dear! Cool and damp in Washington this weekend, so we'll probably be hoppin' at Joyworks! That's good though!

Hugs and love,
Shell

Even though I haven't attempted to sew anything in awhile, I took all my fabric out the other day and arranged it in colors and made sure all the edges lined up like soldiers ready for a drill. Must be the nesting feeling that fall brings forth.

Hi Donna, Just got home from a day of tootling as I call it with hubby. Had a nice surprise when I checked my e-mail. I had sold four of my tea towels. That made me happy. I love the quilt that in your post. I haven't seen anything that you do that I don't like. I know you knit do you crochet? It has been a beautiful day. We started off at 48 degrees and got up to 76 degrees. It does seem like fall. Have a great day. Your Missouri Friend.

i think it's not so much that we want to 'roll around' in the fabric, as much as we want to run our fingers through it, pet it, admire it, show it off, hug it and love it and pet it some more. Yup, it's an affliction, but not one I'm eager to get rid of :)
