I finished these silk ribbon embroideries on the ground fabric
that will soon become two new Hearts Desire sachet hearts.
I'll list them in the Boutique tomorrow.
As I was stitching along, I realized that I'm using silks that
I've had since I closed Stitches in 1998. (Stitches was the name of my
needlework shop in Wisconsin, which I owned for nearly ten years.)
The fibers are twelve years old! Not vintage by any means, but
the chances of matching the colors are slim to none.
You know what that means, don't you?
Time to go shopping!

...and all manner of beautiful hand-dyed silks.
I'm no longer limited to the few colors from my "silk stash".
I've wound them all onto their card labels (for reorder,
of course!) and I'm ready to create with these new silks.
New colors, new flowers, new hearts - small and large.
Next week, I'll add my first large heart cushion to the Boutique.
I'm just a little excited to get started, so I'll close for now.
My fingers are just itchin' to stitch.

I've added new ACEO cards, which are available for purchase. If you're interested in any of these cards, please just email me, as I haven't listed them up on Etsy yet. Here's the link to the album which shows the new cards. Thanks to Tammy of Simple Southern Happiness for encouraging me to list some of my ATCs for sale. (The difference between an ATC and an ACEO is that ACEOs can be sold, and ATCs cannot.)
Donna, all I can say is WOW! Your pink roses are gorgeous and the purple is just out of this world. I've got a very good blogging friend that I need to tell about you and your SRE ~ she is very talented, too, and would so love your blog!

Really beautiful Donna!
ReplyDeleteDear Donna, I love seeing your ribbon embroidery so much ~ I've done just a tiny bit of it myself and so love the look of it...you have an amazing selection of colors!!! It's so good you saved your stash from your shop ~ wishing you a wonderful, creative week!!! hugs and love, Dawn
ReplyDeleteThe purple flowers are particularly beautiful.
ReplyDelete(Donna, I just realised I used two of your pics on my blog without asking you first. It was to illustrate the AiW bookmark you sent me. I really apologise that I didn't ask first.) xx
Oh, I sure wish I didn't have so much arthritis in my thumbs. Cause I'd love to be hand stitching again. I so loved the feeling of serenity it gave me.

Hi Donna, I love the little doll coat and beret on one of your previous post. I do so much like to look at the silk embroidery that you do. It is so pretty. I hope you are having a wonderful day. We just got home from our trip and I am visiting and reading blogs this evening while I unwind from driving in the rain all day. Your Missouri Friend
ReplyDeleteDonna,
ReplyDeleteYour work is just exquisite! Sorry I haven't seen much of you this year! taking lace workshop at Susan's this weekend.

Simply beautiful. I can relate to the "itch'in to stitch." Seems there are never enough hours in the day when it comes time to get all the creative things out of my head and into my hands!
ReplyDeleteDonna, Just had to come by & see what's new in your world & I can tell you I LOVE those new silks you have carded. I want to go look at your new things for sale. Hate to be stupid but, what is ACEO? I know ATC Artist Trading Card but, the other was new to me. HUGS! Charlene
ReplyDeleteOh, yum! What a nice collection of silk ribbon. I love the ACEO's,,you should show them here!
ReplyDeleteYou do inspire me...
