I can't show you the entire gift. I don't want to give away the surprise.
I hand crafted silk roses. Then added snippets of the trim from
Mum's wedding gown, vintage crocheted lace and a silver acorn.
Tomorrow, it will be traveling to a new home...
along with a few other little gifts.
Have you tried making a silk ribbon rose yet?
They're a little like potato chips...you can't stop at just one!

I'm liking what I'm seeing, Donna!
ReplyDeleteMy fave color has always been a pale, muted green. I still love it, but like the rest of blogland, I've been seduced by creams and whites.
Love to you,
Anne
LOVE that lace!

As I grow older,I hope I am becoming wiser. I have been gravitating towards earth tones and more calming natural shades. I really don't think there is a color I dislike...each color of the rainbow has it's place on earth...Happy Earth Day tommorow to all.
ReplyDeletePS. simply beautiful and thoughtful...you are dear Donna!
Hi Donna,
ReplyDeleteI love making flowers out of ribbons, it's one of the latest things I'm trying to get into. Right at this moment in time, I'm working on perfecting my own version of paper roses. I'm trying different medium, cardstock, scrapbook paper, coffee filters, cardboard, etc. Once I get proficient then I shall concentrate on ribbons. Your work is lovely, and the receiver shall adore it, I'm sure.
Hugs,
Meri
That is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWell, you know it's white for me. hee, hee, hee.
ReplyDeleteDear Donna,
ReplyDeleteYour work is so lovely - I always enjoy visiting your blog and seeing what you are working on and what is happening in your life!
My favorite color is blue - specifically a turquoise-y sky blue - but for the past few years I have found myself surrounding myself with pink as well - I think it reminds me of my grandmother who always loved that color!
Hugs
Ramona
