Happy Valentine's Day, dear friends. I'm sharing this beautiful image of hearts stitched by Palette of Heart on Etsy (the link said this is sold out), that I'd saved on Pinterest.

Over the years I've received some beautiful heart-shaped pieces from fellow needlework and blog friends. I think I'll take a few daylight photographs and add them to this post later today. I was away with the dogs most of the afternoon yesterday. I had a haircut and then visited with my friend, Wendi for a while. I'd lost daylight by the time I got home, so I'll take those photos today.

We're expecting anywhere from 4-8" of snow beginning tonight and falling through tomorrow, so I won't be going to Portage for Craft Day with my girlfriends. I think it's better to stay safe at home than take any chances on the road. Not unexpected this time of year, but I'm disappointed just the same. Because I won't be crafting with them this month, I think I'll create a special needlework valentine on my own this weekend. I'll share that with you on Monday.

My sweetheart is in Florida, but I know we'll be talking more than once during the day. I sent a box of my homemade brownie and cookie mixes because I wasn't sure the actual baked goods would mail well. He got the box yesterday and said he's going to be doing some baking today. I know he and our friends will enjoy the treats. I'll miss having him home so I can make a special meal for him, but I'll definitely do that when he comes home next month.

Happy Valentine's Day...

I worked on heart brooches yesterday. These will all be gifts, but I'm going to make some for my Etsy shop, too. Each one will be different from the others. 

Today, I'm going to make Valentine cookies. Once I'm finished in the kitchen, I'll be doing a little more needle dancing. Of course, I'll be back in the kitchen to make a tasty dinner for my love. This is a perfect day to me.

Hi, Everybody!

 

I'm sharin' a perennial favorite from our days in Florida. I look like a kid!

I figure I should be dressed up for all my lady friends today. 

Mom, Boo and I are goin' for a ride in the Explorer today, and she's promised to find a few treats for us. Bella's Birthday is this month, so she's scopin' out ideas for the ol' girl, too. (She's only gonna be eight, so she's not too old.)

We're separated from Dad and Carly this year, but Mom already sent a card to Dad and she's makin' heart cookies to send off to remind him he's missin' all her great bakin'. We'll send along somethin' special for The Kid, too.

I'm goin' to put on my ridin' harness now, so I'm ready when Mom calls us to go for our ride. All of us at the farmhouse hope you have somethin' special planned with someone you love. Always remember,

Hi, Everybody!

I know Valentine's Day was yesterday, but that doesn't mean I can't celebrate it again with you today. Years ago, when we still lived in Florida, I wore my first red tie and captured Mom's heart. She said I was so distinguished lookin', and red was definitely my color.

Still Handsome After All These Years

You saw me dressed in a red tie again (after my groomin' session with Miss Joy of Canine Design), and although I'm a little whiter in my face, I think I've still got it. Mom says I'm just as beautiful to her now as I was ten years ago.

A Valentine's Gift...

Sunday Stitching Supplies

I pulled these threads and fabric so I could get a little needle dancing in. This wasn't a large project (that little frame is only 2" square!), so I knew I could finish it in one sitting. A perfect project for Super Bowl Sunday.

My First Heart Framed Flowers Piece From Last Year

This is the first piece I did to put into one of the two brass heart frames I had. This one was gifted to someone special to me. 

Brynwood Heart Framed Flowers II

This piece was a request. I didn't want it to be exactly like the first one, so I embroidered two larger roses, and one rosebud, and then I did the lavender. When I was finished, I mounted it on a backer, and then framed it...just in time for Valentine's Day.

This is my last miniature heart-shaped frame. I haven't been able to find more, but I'll keep looking. In the meantime...
