March Artist Trading Card Exchanges...

Treasures March Artist Trading Card Exchanges

There may be one card missing from this lot, but these are the cards I received for last month. The theme was "Shamrock", and I think each and every one was a unique endeavor by all the artists. I love them all!

As I'm sure each recipient has come to know my style, I'm becoming more familiar with each of theirs, too. I think they're all fun and creative, and are great additions to my collection.

My April Artist Trading Card
I was really late getting my cards out last month, so I decided to get busy early this month. I finished them yesterday, and they're in the mailbox now to go out to the trade recipients.

The first thing I did was search out an image that I thought would best exemplify our April theme: "Rain". I purchased this sweet bunny artwork from VintageArtRealm on Etsy. I knew I was going to add raindrops, so I first affixed the image (printed on cotton fabric) to the base fabric, using a shimmering Madeira thread. Then, I used a holographic thread from Kreinik to make stitches above the umbrella. Each stitch is anchored with a sparkling bead.

All my cards are in addressed envelopes and will be heading to the swap participants today. Now that this project is complete, I think I'm going to turn my focus to my bluebird embroidery. It's about time, don't you think?

I have my MRI and doctor's appointment today, so I may not be embroidering today. I know there won't be the stress that I had with the other one, but I may just choose to take it easy when I get home. We'll see. Either way, I have a feeling you'll see an image of my bluebird embroidery tomorrow...just to remind you what I'm going to be dancing with next.

  2. Once more you've received a fun collection of ATC's and I must say I love your handsome w'abbit skipping through the puddles left from the April showers.

    1. Hi MA:
I'm going to have to come up with a new way to store all these! I'm used to belonging to swaps where you only have one partner, not multiples. It's fun, but a lot more work, for sure.
I couldn't resist the rabbit with the 'brolly. There was another image I really wanted to use, but alas, it wasn't available without copyright infringement. I won't do that. Perhaps I'll share the image later. (Hint: Gal with umbrella, dog and ducks.)

    2. I used to store my ATC's in the pages that kids use to store their Pokemon or hockey cards. I think each page holds at least nine (18 if you use both sides of the sleeves)...or maybe it was 12...can't remember for sure. At any rate, they're available at the dollar store and not expensive. Then all you need is a 3 ring binder.

    1. Hi Charlene:
My sister, Jan did that one. I love it, too! Glad you like the bunny. It's funny how things look different to me when I photograph them. (My bunny looks like he's running from meteorites to me now. LOL) No test today. I'll explain tomorrow. ugh

  5. He is so adorable, the rain drops are genius (as always).
The only showers here will be two inches of snow Friday.

    1. Hi Shirley:
Thanks, dear. I told Charlene above that in the photo (from a distance, squinting...) it looks like my bunny is fleeing more than romping in the rain. Too late now. lol I'm over the snow. I never even put up my "Let It Snow" sign on the back door last winter, but I still have a cushion with "Winter" on it. I guess I have to put that away, too! Stay safe and warm, dear.
