What You'll Be Seeing Soon...

I have new two projects on my drawing board, and the excitement is building in my studio. This is the fabric assortment for the most immediate of the projects. I'm creating an original quilt for our local guild's November Challenge. The theme is "Paws and Whiskers" and I can hardly wait to begin.

You won't be seeing these fabrics again until my project is finished, but I'm not going to be dawdling until the week before like I did last year! This one is going to take some extra effort and I want it to be worthy of a First Place ribbon!
As soon as I finish my challenge quilt, I'll be starting an extra special, heirloom-quality piece that will be a true one-of-a-kind...and available for purchase! That's the only hint I'm giving right now, but you'll see this finished piece before the end of November, so I hope you'll be watching for it.

I know this post is pretty cryptic, but I promise you'll be seeing more soon.
I just checked and I'm only two posts away from 900! I'll look into my bag of tricks and see what kind of treat I can offer one lucky friend (follower). Coming this week...my 900th Post Giveaway! Woo hoo!
Reminder: Next Monday is Memory Lane Monday (October 31st). If you have a blog, consider sharing a memory on your blog and then linking back here so others can read your story. Perhaps you have a Halloween memory to celebrate the spooky holiday?

  1. I can't wait to see your quilt and I would bet anyone you will get a ribbon :)
I will have to think about the memory thing since I was planning on doing a memory post soon. It might even be a not real happy memory...depends on my mood.
After 9 kids and a dozen grandkids I just don't do that much anymore to decorate for Halloween. If I made costumes now they would have to be for my fur babies and I don't think they would keep it on.
I will be watching for your give away coming soon and I will be doing the same thing when I have a few more and reach 325..wow 900 is a ton but I have enjoyed following you for quite a while and enjoy your posts :)

  7. Your fabric colors are certainly in the theme of "Paws and Whiskers". Your work is always Blue Ribbon quality dear. That lace is dreamy. I can just hear the humming of your sewing machine in your happy productive studio...

  10. Well, Donna, I just found your blog..over at Nora Pearl. You have an Airstream...I am SOOO jealous. I just signed up as your newest follower and we have a bit in common..kinda!;>) I met my husband in Ft.Myers, FL, back in the 70's. He was a WI boy so we packed up and moved to Green Bay....his hometown. Over the years we made one move back to FL and one of my dear friends lives in Punta Gorda.

I used to sew a lot but went back to work at an area hospital. Between working and grandkids I don't seem to have much time to sew anymore! UGH!

You will get a kick out of this. My hubby bought a 1976 GMC motorhome. They are the ones that look like big eggs going down the road. We are refurbishing it for use next summer and can't wait to try it.

I am so glad I found your blog and I will be following along now! Hugs- Diana (ps...I think I am stuck in WI now);.)
