I Really, Really Tried...

I tried for ten months, but after heat, rain, summer and hours spent with blow driers and round brushes, I finally admit that I'm basically lazy when it comes to my hair.

Tuesday was the turning point. I couldn't take it any more. I decided to go from "edgy" (my stylist's term) back to "me". Not quite as short as I had it before all this growing-out-my-hair business began, but much shorter than it's been in recent months...

...and much less curly. To those of you who were rootin' for me to grow it long again, I offer my sincere apologies for wimping out. I just couldn't stay with the program. (In case you're confused...my hair now looks like the first photo. The second photo is how it looked the beginning of the month after my first haircut.)

I have to admit, I've been doing the Happy Dance since I saw the last of the curly stuff hit the floor in the salon. I feel much better, thanks.

  1. I Love it! You look like you again! I'm with you, I don't like doing much to my hair. My beautician always says I can put 'product' in it. I say I don't 'do' product! I wash and let hang to dry:) Twyla

  3. Love it Donna but actually you looked good with it curly too but I know what you mean about feeling better. I havn't been able to find a good hair dresser in over 2 years since I lived up North. The last one cut it on Friday before Mothers Day and I freaked when I heard the clippers go on but couldn't stop her in time. It is just now the length I wanted when I sat in her chair..but like my Daughter said "Mom..It will grow" Will be that time again soon and almost tempted to do it myself or have Billy do it...but when I look at how he trimmed the 2 dogs I would be better off doing it myself LOL

  5. Looks great and ditto for me - I had let mine grow out to my shoulders at the beginning of summer. Just couldn't take the heat LOL Now it's short as yours. And sooooooo much easier to deal with! Yours looks lovely!

  6. Good Morning, Donna,
Your hair looks like it has such nice texture...you are lucky to be able to wear it short.

    Enjoy the Holiday Weekend. ~Natalie

  7. Oh, you wouldn't believe it. I am doing that today! Last night I said I just cannot take it anymore. I hate taking time to do my hair. I have been working FOREVER to grow it longer. It is to my shoulders and this morning I have an appointment to chop it all off! I have natural curls and they are a pain in the neck!

  9. Hey Pretty Lady,

I hear ya! I am so lookin' forward to cuttin' off my hair for donation to "Locks of Love." It shouldn't be too much longer now, all I need is for it to reach 10" or more.

I hope you have a fantastic weekend!

    Hugs,
    Meri

  10. Donna, I love your hair cut short as it really compliments your face. I, too, am not interested in fussing with my hair. I like to wash, comb and then be done with it for the day. No products on my hair, just my natural grey hair that I started getting at 16. Now my age has caught up to my hair. LOL

  11. This so could be an entry on my blog! I was forced to let my hair grow out during my illness and surgeries. Everyone, including my stylist, kept encouraging me to keep it long. It is gradually getting shorter and shorter with each visit to the salon! The summer heat was a main factor.
    Have a wonderful weekend!

  14. You look beautiful and happy and that is all that counts! Hair length is a subjective issue. My husband likes my hair short but I am growing it long and surprisingly he is telling me how beautiful my hair is and how much he likes it. Go figure.
    Safe Labor Holiday weekend dear...

  15. I LOVE your hair! The cut looks great on you, and, although it looks cute curly, I think the first photo shows how beautiful short hair can look on a woman!

  19. Hey Friend
If I looked that good with short hair, I'd cut mine. But I'm basically pretty lazy and it's fast and easy to pull it up for the "messy" look. O, too look as glamorous as you!! sigheeeee

  20. It looks great!
I don't like hair either - it's just dead stuff hanging around - haaa. I went pixie early this summer, from shoulder length to 1 inch long. Was great! Was really great on the Harley!
But I'm not a regular at the hair salon (rather be at the beer saloon-lol not really) so it is going thru graduated lengths now. When it's not easy anymore I will go back in I guess!
    Happy weekend!

  23. You're beautiful no matter how long your hair is, so do whatever makes you happy. I do like your hair, but I really like your shirt, in the curly picture. Did you make that? Or buy it somewhere? Love those green colors!
