My real doctor's name is Dr. Lantry, and when I saw her this week, she gave me a shot. I was pretty brave, but I did squeak a bit because I was surprised!
Then, Mom told her that I've had a little, itchy rash since they picked me up from the breeders. It's really been bothering me, so now I have to take a little medicine every day, and get a special bath every other day until the rash goes away.
What? You didn't expect me to get in a huge bathtub did you? Mom said that it's easier to give me a bath and keep me calm if she does it in the kitchen sink. This way, she doesn't have to get on her knees, either. She likes that part!
Well, actually, I really like getting baths. I decided it was much easier to just relax and let Mom massage the soap into my coat. After I'm all lathered, she gives me nice puppy scratches for about five minutes because the soap has to "do it's thing" (that's what Mom said!). I like the attention, after all.
She wraps me into a big, thirsty towel and then I sit on her lap while she rubs me dry. The only thing that would make it better would be if she gave me a treat to eat at the same time! (Maybe next time.) It must be working, too, because I feel better already! I hardly itched at all after my very first treatment!

Mom has one more job after I'm dry. She really scrubs up the sink and counters when she's finished, too. It is our kitchen, after all, and we can't have any dog germs in the kitchen. What are "dog germs" anyway?
PS. Note from Mom: Don't be too concerned about Fezzik's malady. Apparently, he came to us from the breeder with a nasty bacteria and staph infection. (Nice, right?) We just need to give him a bath in a special shampoo three times a week, and a twice daily antibiotic tablet til it goes away. Not contagious to us or to Kes, which is really great.
Poor Fezzik
ReplyDeleteHe will be better in no time
I'm sure the bath felt wonderful :)
He's such a brave boy! Twyla
ReplyDeleteShame, poor Fezzik. I hope he is all better soon. He looks so adorable sitting in the sink, also the first photo is amazing, he is looking at you with such love and trust.
ReplyDeleteGosh that Fez is cute.
ReplyDeleteIf I have a next dog, its going to be small. My german shepherd won't even GO in the bathroom. He hates a bath so we tote him in the car to the doggy carwash. Its a special room at the carwash where you can take your dog. Really cool with a motorized lift to raise him to washing level with air dry after the bath. UH, its hard to get him in the car now!
Aw! I hope little fez is all better soon and so wish my dogs wouold lay for a bath like that .lol...they think its pool time or something lol...
ReplyDeleteyou are such a good mom Donna...they are such loved little ones.
awwwwwwww...
ReplyDeleteprecious
Ahhh poor little Fez, and not to worry about dog germs sweet Fez, it's the people germs that send me screaming into the night...:)
ReplyDeleteLove the photos Donna, that little guy is the "cat's meow"!!

I thought Fez was really growing, until I saw him in the sink. Or, maybe you just have a very large sink! The only thing my dog loves about baths is the special doggie treat afterwards. About the germ thing, I'm with Fezzik. I did not know dogs had germs. Happy Friday to Fezzik and the rest of the family.
ReplyDeleteDee, that is sure one cute puppy, glad that is all you have to do. I get so upset when I hear about breeders that do that.....grrrr. Hopefully with your loving care and a few baths more then usual he will right as rain soon!!! Good thing he has you for a Mom!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Mags
I wish my babes loved water as much as Fez does. Huskies aren't much for water, alas.
ReplyDeleteDarling pics!
Hugs,
Anne
Fezzik, you are a good boy! Your skin will be free of that nasty infection in no time.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Kessie!
Sadly our sweet boy Kodak won't have any more birthdays, he passed away on Monday, 11/1/10.
Fez, you are such a brave boy, not being afraid of water and all. My cats hate water.
ReplyDeleteLove how you fit into the sink. Surely Kes doesn't.
I am so glad for you it is working, a rash is an awful thing to have.
Hugs,
Lisette, Macho and Chica!
I am wishing I could get such a great massage and bubble bath too...except I am too big to fit into the kitchen sink. Good job Mom and Fezzik. Now do you only do this while Kes is napping? :o)
ReplyDeleteFeel better soon Fezzik...
When I had my kitchen remodeled almost three years ago, I had a deep sink installed for just this reason. Saving my back! Abi came home from a breeder and was terribly sick with something for months. I wanted to throttle the man. Then Charlie came from a turkey farm out in the middle of nowhere (and I mean nowhere) and has been pretty healthy. You're a good mom.

Fezzie you are one cutie boy. I love to have my hair shampooed and brushed too. Like going to a spa! Your itchies will be gone in no time.
ReplyDeleteLove ya sweet boy!
xx, shell
That look of love in Fezzik's eyes is so precious. What a little sweetheart. I hope that nasty little rash goes away real soon. Be a brave little boy, Fezz, and enjoy your toys. Theresa
ReplyDeleteFezzik looks up at you with that trusting sweet face, and my heart just melts. He looks like he is really enjoying it too. So sweet.
ReplyDeleteFezzik my love,
ReplyDeleteYou will be feeling better soon, you are lucky to have such a good Momma to give you nice baths in the kitchen sink. So much easier to bathe and clean up after when using the kitchen sink!
Debbie
Fez- you are definitely getting the royal treatment right now! Lots of attention and love. Do you take your pills wrapped in a mini peanut butter "sandwich" like I used to dose our doggie, Dickens? It was the only way he took his meds. :-)
ReplyDeleteYou are one cutie-pie little pup!
