My Newest Valentine...

What a delightful surprise to receive an envelope this week from my friend, Wendy at The Frog Palace!
I opened it to find a fun pink-theme Valentine.
Wendy used part of a dictionary page and made the
definition of "pink" the focal point
Then, she added cutout leaves and a pearly pink button.

Then, she added lots of fab-u-lous vintage buttons and
a length of vintage trim (see top photo).
See those soft pink buttons? They're my favorites, but
I love all of them. Remember that Handsome frequently
calls me "Scrooge McDuck" when I'm playing in my buttons!

Everything surely brightened my day, and I couldn't
stop smiling at her generosity and thoughtfulness.

Thank you, Wendy!
You've got my creative juices flowing, and I can't wait to play!
You'd giggle to see me dancing a little happy dance.
I'll hope you'll visit her blog and leave a note for her to read.

There are emergency travel plans in my near future. I'll know more later today, and I'll tell you more on Monday. Your continued prayers are appreciated.

Another Look...

I completed the set of six dinner napkins for my 1000th Post Giveaway over the weekend, and I really like the way they turned out.
Sweet little birds and flowers on one side and coordinating green polka dots on the reverse. Notice that I used a decorative stitch on the edge that mimics the little branches on the bird's tails. All six napkins will go to one lucky winner in the giveaway drawing.
I've also selected an assortment of vintage laces and buttons, and I've added some pretty, soft seam binding ribbons to the mix. All of this assortment will go to my second winner.

If you missed my giveaway, you can click here to go to the post where you can leave your comments for entries. Good luck, everyone!

Look At The Sparkle...

I just had to share some vintage sparkly buttons I recently purchased for a project, but that's not the real subject of my post today...
Last week, I told you my brother-in-law, 'Ser, used my motorcycle to ride with the other Wild Hogs. He was so sweet. At the end of the week, he left me a gift card to our local Harley dealership to get my bike cleaned and detailed. We picked it up today. Good thing I was wearing my sunglasses!Handsome and his brother used to recite what I think was an old advertising jingle (for car polish)...and it's so appropriate today as I share the photos of my "Daisy Deuce":
"Look at her shine
Look at her sparkle

My Harley's got that

Arkadol Barkle..."

Thanks, 'Ser!!! The bike looks great!

For all my new followers who didn't know that I own and ride my own Harley...I hope I didn't give you too big a shock today! My bike is a 2003 (Anniversary Edition) Softtail Deuce. Handsome has his own bike - a 2004 Harley-Davidson Heritage Softtail Classic. I'll show you photos of his bike another time. One shock a day is enough, right?

I promise to return tomorrow with a crafty post!

Don't forget, I'll be drawing names on February 28th! I'm getting pretty excited. I hope you are, too!

New Woolies...

I can't tell you how excited I was on Saturday when the latest package arrived in the mail. I had ordered a new selection of hand-dyed wools...and they were all in that box!

Beautiful shades of brown, gold, grey and a few other scrumptious shades mixed in. My mind has been racing. I can't wait to start playing with all these new woolies.

There will be Brynwood Acorn Ornaments added soon to my Boutique, and I've got a few other new ideas for some of the other fabrics.

I won't tell you exactly what I'm working on, but I think you'll like what I'm currently creating in the studio. (Oh, I hope you do!) Suffice it to say, "vintage buttons", "sparkling beads", "shimmering fabric" and my new "scrumptious, sumptuous woolies". I promise not to make you wait too long.
