Tuesdays With Tag - A Great Day For A Tour...

 Hi, Everybody!
I'm so excited!!! Today we're goin' for a car ride!!!
Put on your seatbelts. Mom says we gotta follow the rules of the road.

Dad's gonna drive and Mom's takin' pictures for me.
(She gets better angles than I do.)
Mom said I haven't been to this place before, so I'm real curious, too!
I guess this is it. Dad turned into their road. See the horse on the sign?
I bet this is gonna be fun. Maybe I'll get to chase a pony or two?
This is a really nice place. It's quiet and there are lots of trees.
There are lots of fences, too. Mom says it's 'cuz of the horses.
People don't want them runnin' around loose. Someone might get hurt!
Dad slowed down when we got to this place. Mom said, "Tag (that's me!).
This is where Dad and I lived when we first moved to Florida. Kessie lived here
with us, too. We like to drive by every once in a while to see how it's changed."

We all agreed that the old, dark brown color on the outside was better than
the new, baby poo, pumpkin color. They said the trees have gotten really
big, too. Yeah. Ok. Can we keep drivin'? I've seen enough of this place.
This is more like it! See the four whole deer just eatin' by the side
of this driveway...and the man who lives there is at the end of their
road mowin' his lawn. Isn't that crazy? They're almost as tame as me!

I just saw a bunch of horses, too, but Mom and Dad said we couldn't
stop. People frown on ya buggin' their livestock. I really didn't plan
to run after them (unless they wanted me to), but I could say "hi".
Nope. Dad says we aren't gonna stop and let me out. Rats!
Well, we're all finished drivin' through "The Ranches", and it's gettin'
late. The sun is startin' to set and I'm in "my light". Dad says he's
hungry, so it's time to go home. I've really had a good time showin'
you one of Mom and Dad's favorite places in Sarasota County.

I know that the real reason they like to go here is to see if there are any
cool houses for sale. We didn't see anythin' we liked, so maybe next time.

All in all, it turned out to be a really great day for a tour!
"Home, Dad." I'll see ya again next week!
'til then...
"More Waggin' and Less Barkin'!"
(Really Mom? Can we do a new signature picture of me next week?)

I'd Rather Be Sewing...

On Monday, my whole day was spent in a city commission meeting without even so much as a crafting magazine or needle and thread. Wasted time in my book! So, I'm not going to talk about Monday, but I do want to share a photograph that I took on Sunday.

Handsome and I were out near Myakka State Park in Sarasota, FL when I happened upon this egret standing watch on the shore of a beautiful pond. I couldn't resist taking its picture so that I could share it with you. (A good blogger always has her trusty camera in hand, right?)

Today, I'll be back in the studio. I'm going to work on a few of the gifts for my current giveaway. I'm looking forward to sharing them with you tomorrow. Until then, I'll take a deep breath, forget about city politics and drink in this calming image of a day spent with nature. Nature. Saves me every time!

There's No Place Like Home...

I want to share a photograph with you which appeared recently in our local newspaper. I'm sorry that I don't have a name for the photo credit. It's a stunning image of the Myakka River which flows within a mile of our home.

Nature in Florida is beautiful, fearsome and awe inspiring. The river makes so much of it possible. Take just a moment to ponder what it would be like to float on this river in the early hours of a warm and steamy day. Practically takes my breath away.
