I know if I decide to take it out, it's going to take a while, but that shouldn't be my deciding factor. You'll get to see what I decide tomorrow. Back to the needlework stand.

More Progress On Belle's Dragon Brooch...
In addition to baking four loaves of farmhouse bread and three loaves of French bread (to make my brother-in-law's favorite sandwiches for dinner), I did manage to work on the base layers for Belle's dragon brooch.
I'll continue working on it today as I'm able, and will share again tomorrow. I have a hair appointment in the middle of the afternoon, and Handsome has another concert tonight, so I'll stitch in the gaps. Today, the plan is to stitch down all the super pearl purl around the outside of the brooch, and then add more detail if I have enough time.
Belle's original drawing is above my work, and her brooch will be just a wee bit larger so I can get the details in. I did add another (back) horn on the dragon, deciding to take a little artistic license with it. I do want to keep as close to the original as possible going forward though.
Handsome has an appointment first thing this morning, so I'm going to have coffee with my brother-in-law now before he heads out to meet up with friends. (Then I'll sit down to my needlework stand to see how much I can accomplish.) More tomorrow.

Soon There Be Dragons...
When sorting through my goldwork supplies, I realized that I'd need some 3 mm sequins in different colors than what I have. I did an online search and found a suitable supplier and they arrived on Saturday. Now I'm ready to begin this process.
I'll pull fabric, prep my hoop, trace the design, and begin stitching today. I'll share my progress on Wednesday after Tag visits with you. He's slightly addled right now, but I'll let him try to tell you why tomorrow. It's always something with that little guy.
See you Wednesday!

Heart Embroidery Finished…
When I get home later this week, I’ll cut these out of the hoop and turn them into brooches. You know I’ll share them when they’re done.
Now it’s time to tell you about my next project, though. Two months ago at our monthly Craft Saturday, Adrienne’s young daughter, Belle saw one of my heart brooches and loved the sparkle. Then she showed me her drawing of a dragon standing on its hind legs. I told her that if she drew a sleeping dragon, I’d stitch and create a goldwork brooch from her drawing.
This is the drawing she handed to me at our last craft day. I’ve only changed the size to make it easier to add the goldwork elements for a brooch. Now that I’ve finished my other brooches, I’ll start this piece…and I’m really excited to create a dragon brooch for her. Updates in the near future.
