Corgi Earrings...

In addition to the great weekend with friends, I came home on Saturday with these gorgeous Corgi earrings created by Judy's friend, Paula. 

She made many sets like these (and some cute Corgi butt ones) because she thought the FastCAT event was only for Corgis. As I it was an all-breed event, she didn't take them with her to sell. She gave these to me as a gift, and wouldn't let me pay for them. 

She doesn't have an Etsy site yet, but we did discuss it because she had questions about setting up a shop. She showed me all the different, wonderful styles she creates, but right now she only sells at local vendor events. If she eventually opens an Etsy shop, I'll be sure to share a link with you.

I think I'll be contacting her soon to see if she'll make some Labradors for me to wear when Handsome and I compete our girls this summer. I can only imagine how cute they'll be!

I've pulled fabrics for our DIL's birthday gift. I'll share those tomorrow.

 

Butterfly Wings...

 I thought I'd share a vintage trinket with you today. It's something I've had for a long

time. I know that it's probably somewhere around fifty years old because I've seen

it for as long as I can remember. This pendant is reversible and I love both images.

 One side looks like a moonlit beach scene and the other is a pine tree at night.

I like that it reminds me of where I grew up, as well as where we live now.

The most unique thing about this pendant is that the beautiful color sandwiched

between the trees is part of a butterfly wing. I've always been fascinated by its

iridescent and slightly ethereal quality. It was years before I knew what it was.

 I  usually only take it out occasionally to admire how pretty it is, but I so wish 

that I could wear this on a chain. Sadly, the bale on the top of the pendant is so

 fragile that I fear it would break and I'd lose it. Perhaps I'll try to shine up the metal

 and use it as an embellishment in the studio. For now, I'm going to leave it pinned

 like this to one of my favorite little silver pincushions. It know will be safe there.

Ready-To-Wear Corgi...

 I just got a new pendant and love it so much I had to share!

This little lovely was created by talented artist, Emily Rose Godlevsky.

She lives in Denton, Texas, where she creates jewelry for all dog breeds.

I just love her sense of whimsy, and I thought her corgi was perfectly "Tag".

 

 When I'm not wearing "mini Tag", it hangs where I can see and enjoy 

it...in our bedroom from the switch on a favorite and treasured lamp.

Homeward Bound...

We left Williamsburg, Virginia yesterday and are nearly home. 

I've had this ceramic pin for about fifteen years and

it's always been one of my favorite, whimsical pieces to wear.

It reminded me of Kessie with her silly ears, and

she was never one to turn down a little ride in the car.

It just seemed the right image for today's post.

I'm hoping to find an artist some day who could make another one 

for me, but with a corgi that looks like Taggart grinning out the window.

Tag has become quite the little traveler, so it would be perfect for him, too!

I've got so many exciting things to share with you in the next week,

least of which will be a giveaway that I've been planning 

to celebrate over 800 posts (It's actually 867 today!)

I'll do my regular weekend posts, but starting next week I'll share a few

revelations and then launch my 800th Plus Post Giveaway. (Catchy, eh?)

Thank you to everyone who gave me suggestions for locating my

Rhapsody of Grace fabric. I placed an order online yesterday 

and received an online confirmation for my order right away. 

I'm crossing my fingers that they actually have what I need now.

Because we're on the road, and I placed the order online while we

were driving (don't you just love modern technology?) I'll have to

wait until Monday to call and find out if it's on its way to me.

I'll be home late today, and will be back in the studio as soon as I can.

Generations© Jewelry Collection...

I've been busy! Today I photographed a number of my Generations© Jewelry Collection pins and have begun to list them up in my Etsy store.

I love the concept behind these pins. The images are all people or places I have known, with the exception of my Heroes pins. The Heroes pin encases an actual USPS postal stamp from 9/11...and I have actually priced them slightly lower so that everyone can purchase one to wear on Labor Day!

This pin is called On The Farm and features a spitfire named Julie. You can read all about her in the listing. With my Generations© collection, you can adopt an ancestor or an attitude. Sharing My Favorite Things...

I thought I'd share some of my favorite things with you today...buttons and seashells. I love making collage hearts! The two styles I like the best are created with old buttons or with seashells. I also insert additional trinkets in them when I find the perfect element.

I started making them a couple of years ago, and love searching through my collections for just the right elements. In the seashell collage, I also made the charm to add to the piece. I features an image of The Birth of Venus.

Because of my choice of materials, no two are exactly the same which is just another aspect that I love about them.

In the coming weeks and months, I'll be adding items like this to my Etsy store (as well as my hand created jewelry pieces). I hope you'll go window shopping from time to time to see if there's something in my store you just can't live without!
