Play Day...

Funny how things happen. My day went nothing like it was planned yesterday,
but you know what? It couldn't have been a better day. It was nearly perfect!
It started out in the studio, waiting for the call that would let me know "when"
and "where" for lunch. By about 2 o'clock, I started to get the idea that the call
wasn't forthcoming. That's ok. Plans change. I just kept doing what I was doing.
By dinner time, I had "whipped up" ten of these fun, selvage quilt blocks.
Handsome and I headed out for a dinner date. Again, it rained...hard.
We laughed and ran into the restaurant. Dinner was great, and I love being
with my husband. What could possibly be better than that? A safe, wet drive
home...and two more finished blocks for the block pile before bedtime.

As far as I'm concerned, it was a perfect play day!!!

Peanuts And Popcorn And...

My floral hat...soon to be listed in The Boutique!

I'm taking the day off.
Handsome and I have planned a whole Date Day Friday.

We're starting the day at the local nursery in search of the
perfect shade tree to grace an empty space in front of our house,
and we'll finish with a baseball game for the local farm team
for the Tampa Bay Rays...
our favorite
Their fabulous stadium is across town,
but within miles of our home.
GO, CRABS!
(I love saying that! giggle)

Have a great day, my dear friends.
I'll be back tomorrow.

Evening At The Ball Park...

Handsome and I got to the park a half hour before game time. The weather had been threatening, and just as we got to the turn for the parking lot, it started to sprinkle. We were sure we were going to get soaked. We were wrong.

The game started on time, and although the skies continued to look threatening, the weather skirted the stadium and we stayed dry. I took these photos - to show you the sky - shortly after we arrived, but even so, the stadium didn't fill up tonight. My guess is because of the surrounding weather.

By the time we were into the third inning, the skies had cleared. The Port Charlotte Stone Crabs played their final game against Sarasota...and lost. It's ok. We had fun anyway, and we'll be looking into seasons tickets for next year.

Quilting Update: Got all the four-patches frogged by 3 pm Sunday, and then started arranging the squares into nine-patches. My plan is to at least begin sewing the nine-patches together today. I'll let you know tomorrow.
