Decisions While Dancing...

Brynwood Needleworks - Wedding Roses

This was a very nice weekend. I got in a little yard work with Handsome, dealt with too much a lot of laundry, Sunday brunch with my BFF, Lee, and a little needle dancing. I made a few decisions, too. I actually did less stitching than anything else, but between mowing the lawn with Handsome and needlework, I got in a lot of "thinking time".

This past year has been a bit difficult, having had four surgeries. I found out last week I have at least two more in my future. The doctor is great because she really listens to me, understanding how I'm not really anxious to plan for another surgery only three months since the last one. So, I've decided that I'm not going to have any further surgeries this year. I'm going to spend this time healing and enjoying my life without appointments, doctors, and clinics looming over me. I'll think more about such things after the first of the year.

I'm going to be showing at the November crafters event in Kewaskum, WI again, so soon I'll start production for that. I have wallets, handbags, and a few new design styles to make, plus I'm adding some of my needlework pieces to the lineup this year. I'll be concentrating on that beginning in early October.

After that, it will be time for my Christmas sewing/stitching, and then deciding if I'll be creating to enter pieces in the quilt guild's biennial show in Florida in February. That will mostly depend on whether or not Handsome will be going to Florida to make music this winter.

I think I'd better get out my date planner and start making a few lists. I've found that making lists is a great way to declutter my mind. That way, I can tick off items as I accomplish them, too.

So, now you know what I know. Carpe diem, right? And one day at a time. I think I'd better stop before I close with any more cliches'. Tag will see you tomorrow. I'll be back on Wednesday. Toodles...

I Can't Stop - And I Don't Want To...

Brynwood Needleworks - Embroidered Yellow Roses

I've been busy with this new idea. I've finished these pale yellow roses, and am nearly finished with another one.

I've decided to call my embroidered zippered bags "Possibles Bags" because you can use them for almost anything. They'd make nice evening bags, makeup bags, or to hold your craft/needlework supplies. Just about anything you could possibly want to carry.

I'll be sewing this and a second one over the weekend, and who knows, I may even work on a few more, too. Handsome and I will be home today, but we're going to watch Grandson play college football on Sunday. What are you planning for the holiday weekend?

I Can't Stop Dancing...

Brynwood Needleworks - A Commissioned Piece

Needle Dancing, that is.

I've created this as part of a commissioned piece. Now that the embroidery is finished, I'll be assembling the rest of the materials to complete it. (I'll be sure to share the finished work with you!)

Brynwood Needleworks - Making Floral Necklaces

I was assembling pendants today, too, from the flowers I've already embroidered. There will be more of these coming, too. I'm going to wait until I have a number of them finished before listing them all up for sale. If you see one you want, you can let me know, and I'll pull it from the lineup. (The lilacs and clover shown here are already claimed, but I can make another for you. Because each one is hand crafted, no two will be exactly alike.)

So, if you're looking for me, I'll either be in the Compass Barn, visiting with that little black and white cat, or I'll be in my studio surrounded by my canine admirers. See you tomorrow!
