As I write this, there's a gentle rain falling on the fields surrounding Hickory Hill. The birds are singing, and the crops are lapping up every bit of it. The forecast predicts this will continue all day.
This photo is from a previous baking marathon day, but I'll be making more warm cinnamon rolls just like these.
This afternoon is our monthly classmate dinner, and it was requested that I bring more frosted goodness to sell. So, I'm already in the kitchen with a fresh cup of coffee and cinnamon on my mind.
I wish you a day filled with wonderful things. I'll be back tomorrow with photos from my day today.

Your kitchen is going to smell AMAZING!! Nothing better than cinnamon/bread baking. Really wish I could taste test at least one.
ReplyDeleteHi MA-
DeleteI got busy making them, and they'd cooled so I could frost them about forty five minutes before we had to leave. I don't usually notice how good the house smells until I go outside and then come back in. We got home from dinner, and you're right. The whole house smelled like cinnamon rolls. So nice! Thanks.

Sherryofcreateology: Oh how lovely your warm Cinnamon Rolls are. I love eating such food. I have actually eaten one (or two) of each kind available in our Southern Utah Food Wasteland! I am certain yours would win the Blue Ribbon! Enjoy your soft rain today dear.
ReplyDeleteHi Sherry-
DeleteThanks! They're definitely a favorite around here. I make sure to only save a few for us. Otherwise, my jeans would quickly become too small! A Blue Ribbon?! You're too kind. If the USPS weren't slower than the Pony Express these days, I'd definitely send some your way.

How cozy! A gentle rain outside and a warm delicious smelling kitchen inside! Enjoy your gathering with friends!
ReplyDeleteHi Lois-
DeleteThe rainfall really was perfect, my friend. I think the humidity helps the dough rise, too! Thanks!

Best of both worlds, rain outside and a wonderful smelling kitchen.
ReplyDeleteI had rain all day Tuesday, but we still need more.
I'm looking forward to see who shows up for dinner.

Hi Shirley-
DeleteI'm with you. It's the perfect combo. Like you, we could still use more rain just like this. Our grass is still crunchy. The up side is that our lawn is currently taken over by clover. It's so beautiful.
