    1. Hi Marilyn:
I agree. No matter our points of view, violence is unacceptable.

  2. Thank you for your post. Between the deaths of Iryna and Charlie, I know I’m struggling. What I don’t talk about much with anyone is that my father was murdered 26 years ago. His killer got the death penalty, but the entire case was overturned by a liberal judge a few years ago because “he might not have gotten enough mental evaluation.” Now we are waiting for rehabilitation for a man who refuses to speak to any doctor for a completely new trial. He knew what he was doing then, and he knows what he is doing now. It seems like murder is a completely acceptable response for anyone. I needed to be reminded that this world is not my home, that it is completely broken, and that only with Jesus can all things be mended. Thank you. Andrea Hickman

    1. My dear Andrea:
I had no idea. I'm so very sorry for your loss, and the added burden events like this place on you - especially since the justice you thought you'd received is now all up in the air. That's just terrible. I'll be praying that you get the results you seek, my friend. I agree. Our salvation is in Jesus, where we'll find our true happiness.
      Much love,
      xoxo

    1. Hi Scottish Joey:
I know we can't even begin to imagine. Such an unspeakable act, and it's happening all to often. Children and adults - and there's no reason for this. We just keep praying that it will end, and that anyone else thinking this is acceptable gets the psychological help they need.
Prayers for all of us, but especially Charlie's family right now. Thank you for your comment.

  4. There just aren't any words for this senseless stupidity.
Everyday I think what will top the craziness of yesterday.
This has just taken the wind out of my sails.
I can't stop thinking how devastated the family is.

    1. Dear Shirley:
I understand completely. I was in tears all day. About the time I begin to lose hope for the future of our country, I see the prayer vigils across America - and even in other countries - over this tragedy. We need to come back to our faith, knowing that there are answers we know not of yet. Perhaps some day.
      Hugs, my friend.

  5. So. terribly. horrific. This really has become a "sign of the times"... the Bible says that the "love of man will grow cold" and we can overwhelmingly see that so many people do not value life or their fellow mankind. I wholeheartedly echo what Andrea says above, this world is not my Home and only Jesus can truly mend the issues of this world. Lifting prayers for the Kirk family.

    1. Hi Lois:
It is awful. Beautifully said, dear. Our hope and salvation is in the Lord Jesus. All answers and comfort lie with Him. Charlie knew that, and I have no doubt that he now rests in the arms of our Savior. We're praying for his family, too.
      Hugs,
      xoxo
