| "Summer Serenade - Bluebirds" Label |
The label is now affixed, and the smaller sleeve has been replaced with a four inch sleeve featuring the selvage from the bluebird fabric.

I sewed the selvage to the sleeve before I assembled it. Then I hand sewed it to the back of the wall hanging.
Now that I've done those things, my bluebird wall hanging is completely done. The three seasonal bird pieces will hang together until a fourth season - American goldfinches for autumn - joins them.
I may do a pair of black-capped chickadees before the goldfinches. There are a number of these sweet birds who wait for me to fill the feeders every winter. They're usually about a foot over my head when I trudge through the snow to bring their food. I'll say, "Chicka dee dee dee", and those little birds chirp right back at me! I'll really have fun doing them!
Well, it's time to begin my gift sewing now. Best get back to the studio! See you tomorrow.

I vote for the Chickadees, they are my favorite.
I love to watch their energy, & listen to them chatter in the trees, so cute.
They come & get 1 seed, go up in the tree, eat it, come back down for only 1 more seed, repeat, lol

DeleteThanks! All credit goes to MA for the idea. I love it, too! There will definitely be chickadees, but the goldfinches are reserved for the fourth seasonal wall hanging. I love both of them, but the chickadees hang close and talk to me, so they have a special place in my heart, too. You're sound sweet, and I'm glad you enjoy watching them as well.

Such a lovely finishing touch! Chickadees are probably my favorite bird, followed by their little buddies, the Titmouse. I love when the congregate at our feeders with the Cardinals and other feathered lovelies! I talk to them, too, with that chickadeedeedee 😄
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lois! I'm glad I'm not the only one with a soft spot for chickadees. Our feeders have been really busy since I put out food after our first snow. They know where to find sustenance now for the rest of the winter. I love that little "chicka dee dee dee".
