I went to the fabric studio shelves expecting to see it right next to the gray colorway bolt. It wasn't there. Then I remembered that I'd pulled the last of it off the bolt for this piece, and folded what I wasn't going to be using for the central block to use later for the corners.
I spent at least an hour searching, sorting, rearranging, and yet was unable to find the last piece of the fabric. I went back to the main piece to see whether or not I have enough to tease the corners from it, and if I have to I can, but it will be tight.
I'm going to look again today. I'll go back through the places I looked yesterday, and open every container and drawer to see where I put it for "safekeeping". Needless to say, there was no feather stitching yesterday. I'll keep hunting until I find it, and perhaps I can begin that process later today. Wish me luck!

Oh my, what a familiar story. Good luck finding your fabric.
ReplyDeleteHi Bev:
DeleteI know I'm not the only one this happens to. Lucky for me, I found it this morning! Win!!!

Oh bother.... don't you just hate those exceptionally safe places we put things... hoping you're successful today in your search! And, did you say goldfinches?!?! Oh, I can't wait for those to come up to the top of your To Do List!! But for now I'll keep enjoying the progress of these lovely bluebirds.... 😁😉
ReplyDeleteHi Lois:
DeleteThe worst thing I can do (apparently) is put something in a "safe place". It takes me forever to locate it again. sigh. I did win this one, though. See my next post. I hope you enjoy this update, dear.

I hope you find your fabric today.
ReplyDeleteYou must've put it in a very "safe place".
Marilyn
Hi Marilyn:
DeleteI can't tell you how many times I opened that drawer and never saw it. Success this morning!
It was safe, though. lol

I'm sorry. But I laughed. Not at you, but at that marvelous illustration of Elmer Fudd. Hope you and Elmer have success today and find that elusive fabric that's playing hide and seek.
ReplyDeleteHi MA:
DeleteI'm glad Elmer made you laugh. I thought he was perfect for this "hunt". We did succeed! I just shook my head when I found it. sigh

When I find myself in a similar situation I always ask St. Anthony, he knows better than me where my safe places are, just sayin..... Sometimes I'm on such a mission to find something and wonder
ReplyDeletehow many times I've overlooked it. And let's not talk about looking and getting sidetracked when I
find something else.
Shirley
Hi Shirley:
DeleteI need a Saint with a small rubber hammer to pound what I've forgotten back to the front of my mind. Lucky for me, I can usually solve problems in my sleep. No resting here. I found the fabric piece (about the same size as the ground fabric for the bluebirds) right where I put it for safekeeping. I must have pulled the drawer open at least a half dozen times and never saw it. I moved just slowly enough today that I saw it. YAY!
