I know it doesn't seem like much, but I did get a good start on the second wing. For those who are wondering, I'm using single strands of Anchor and DMC cotton floss for this entire project. Perhaps that's why it looks like less progress than one might expect.
I am enjoying this process again, and between the natural light coming in the windows and my trusty lighted magnifier, I can see every single stitch so they're placed as they should be. It just takes time, and I don't want to rush this.
I'm working today, so there won't be progress on this for a bit. I also have this month's ATCs on my list, and the prompt this month is "beach". Did I already tell you that? I can't remember. Anyway, I'm still thinking about how I want to create that on my cards. I'm hoping for a flash of inspiration, but it hasn't come yet.
I can't play today, so perhaps you'll tell me what you're working on so I can live vicariously through you? I'd love to know what keeps your creative juices flowing. Hoping you'll share so I have fun reading your comments. Off to work I go...
That's a lot of progress, It's an intense stitch.
ReplyDeleteIt looks great.
Hi Ho Hi Ho!
Marilyn
Hi Marilyn:
DeleteThanks! I have to remember to stop from time to time, as I find myself hunched over my hoop. I need to take breaks to "loosen up" again. lol Work was intense today. My Tuesdays are always wild, because the Spanish-speaking customers know that's when I work, plus the regulars. Today, I was also helping train a new cashier. (YAY!!) I was gassed by the time I got home. (Lots of "time"s in this reply. lol)
Hugs,
xoxo

Sherryofcreateology: Back home after visiting family and friends in Southern California. All have health issues so no fun there. Your stitching is precision. Working on my Beach ATCs today.
ReplyDeleteHi Sherry:
DeleteSorry your trip wasn't as much fun as it could have been. We're like the walking wounded at the farmhouse these days, and I'm still waiting for the scheduler to call me to set up my surgery date. I've called twice today asking to talk with her! Thank you for your compliment, dear. I'm so-far stumped on my Beach ATC design - and I've been thinking a lot about it, too. I'm going to try to work on them Wednesday. Glad you're safely home.
Hugs,
xoxo
Donna
I'm amazed at how much you got done. That's some pretty intensive stitching.
ReplyDeleteAs for what I'm working on - a rag doll for our grandie. The doll itself is done, plus her dress. Yesterday I made a nightie and now I'm working on a pair of jeans and a top. After all, what self-respecting doll doesn't need a change of clothes!!
Hi MA:
DeleteOh, my! I'd love to see your rag doll and all the wardrobe! I just love the little animal dolls...have you seen them? (From Seren Studios) I have her patterns and plan to make some for holiday gifts this year. (Yes. We'll see how that goes. lol) Thank you, dear. It sure seems intensive, making sure all my little stitches are precisely placed. I do love the process, though.
Hugs,
xoxo

If you want to see her I think I'll be posting about her on Friday on my blog and there will be pictures. Now I'm off to check out Seren Studios and no doubt wishful think!
DeleteBeing a stitcher myself I know how much time and work that section took.
ReplyDeleteAnd without that trusty lighted magnifier I would be nowhere.
I'm working on Liberty (an Eagle) cross stitch pattern by Kitty & Me.
I've been working with the metallic Treasure Braid for a while.
I need to get back to some quilting in the near future.
Also for a smile, check out spicerjackjack on instagram, he is from Wisconsin.

Hi Shirley:
DeleteI love that fellow needleworkers "know". All of us who engage in creating with needles know just how much work goes into our labors of love. I'm going to look up that pattern to see what you're working on...and I'm going right to IG when I'm finished with your reply to see that channel. Thanks!
Hugs,
xoxo
