Take Me Out To The Ballgame...

Sunday weather was perfect for a trip to Milwaukee to watch a ballgame with loved ones. Especially when our team - Theeee Milwaukee Brewers - won! Baseball is my all-time favorite sport, and it was so nice to share the game with Son #1 and his family.

On another subject - 

With the weather bouncing all over the map, my hands have been feeling it. Especially my left thumb. I've been treating it with Tylenol™, organic castor oil mixed with frankincense, and Blue Emu™. They help, but it's been difficult for this southpaw to hold a fork, let alone a needle. 

Which is my way of telling you there's been no progress on the frogs since last week. Believe me, I'm hoping things improve. I really want to get back to working on them. I only work my regular ten hours this week, so I'm going to be optimistic that I accomplish something on them soon. I'd cross my fingers, but that hurts, too right now. sigh What's the old saying? "Getting old ain't for sissies." Yes. That. 

It Was A Wonderful Day...

Brynwood Needleworks - New Primitive Gatherings Summer Fabric Line

Yesterday began with a cup of coffee and then a drive to Menasha for our monthly Primitive Gatherings Sit & Sew group. There were a lot of ladies this month, as members who hadn't been in a while were able to join us.

Show & Tell (or as I call it "Bring & Brag") is always interesting, because we get to see what everyone is working on - or has created - and Lisa Bongean always shares upcoming projects with us, too. This one is a pattern she designed using her summer Wisconsin Shop Hop fabrics. You'll be seeing more of these soon, as I will be designing some bags/accessories using some of them.

Decisions. Decisions. Lisa showed us one of the summer Blocks of the Week programs that will be available in two or three colorways. I have to decide whether or not I'm going to do this one, and if so, which colorway. They're all gorgeous!

We also got to see the finished Moon Garden quilt from one of the last Block of the Month programs. We all agreed the colors were really wonderful in this one, and many of the ladies who didn't get into this program, I'm sure, are planning to purchase this one after the fact.

 

Brynwood Needleworks - Grandson, Handsome and #1 Son

After lunch, I had to drive the hour back home a little earlier than usual. Handsome and I went to all Milwaukee Brewers ballgame in Miller Park. I only took a few photos, preferring to enjoy the game by keeping my phone in my (Event) bag instead. The guys are all just being silly in this picture, but I love it.

I'm going to work on a little project that will be a quick finish, so I'll show you that soon. We've got a meeting first thing this morning with a contractor. I can't wait to tell you about an upcoming big project here at the farmhouse. More on that later. I know. I'm a tease.

Work, Then Play...

Family Time At A Milwaukee Brewers Game

This is actually how our day ended yesterday...with a trip to Milwaukee with our elder son and his family. We went to the beautiful stadium that is home to the Milwaukee Brewers baseball team, and boy, did we have great seats!

You'll notice our little photobomber behind Handsome. We had a group of nurses from the local VA hospital sitting in the row in front of us. We actually earned this because we'd done the same to their pictures earlier in the game. They hooted when they saw their pictures with Handsome and the "boys" in it, so turnabout was fair play. We weren't the only ones either. We saw many others taking pictures only to have someone behind them pop into the frame at the last minute...all in good, clean fun.

The Brewers were playing the Cleveland Indians, and our team prevailed 3-1. It was a great game with some really incredible plays. I'm sure we'll do it again over the course of the summer.

Pincushions For A Client

 

I had an order waiting to be fulfilled, as I was busy with the quilt show last weekend. I sat down on Monday to make one pincushion, and then did the other yesterday. They're now on their way to a new home, so I could really have fun at the game without worrying about an obligation at home.

 

"Work before play", and that's just how the day went.

I got this job accomplished inside, and Handsome and Andy worked together outside.
