Anyone who knows me well knows I already embrace this philosophy. Equally important is taking time for a walk with nature, and combining that walk with art or creativity is a bonus.
I have "chores" to accomplish today...bookkeeping, shredding paper, and tossing "dead weight". I'm going to try to do all this with a happy heart, knowing my outlook will be lighter once it's done. Knowing tomorrow will be better after I do this stuff I don't like to do. I'll look forward to tomorrow as I throw myself into today. See you later.
PS. We've had great news about our loved one They've moved to a facility where they'll receive physical therapy and the extended care necessary for the transition to returning home. Our gratitude for all the healing prayers and good wishes is immeasurable. Thank you.

Romancing creativity - wise words indeed! I know how you feel about having to do the bookkeeping and shredding chores because I dread when the bank statement arrives every month and I have to balance the books. You'd think, being a former bank teller, it would be a cinch, but it rarely is.
ReplyDeleteVery glad to hear your person is doing better.
I always try to do creative things daily.
ReplyDeleteGlad your loved one will get the help they need.

I need to choose joy - and not grumble -when working on those necessary tasks. This is such a struggle for me... I always feel like I need to accomplish all those tasks/chores before I can take time (for myself) to do something creative. And, yet, my disposition is greatly improved after creative endeavors. Sigh. I really hate paperwork. And cleaning toilets. But, alas, this is life, and even in this digital era, there is still lots of paperwork... and dirty toilets. If only we could clean toilets by flushing paperwork.
ReplyDeleteSo glad there is improvement for your loved one!
Hi Lois-
DeleteI LOVE the way you think. I'd love to clean toilets by your method. I'm the same way, though. It's hard to play before work, but I'm getting better at it! 🤭
