Tuesdays With Tag - Ten Weeks Old and All Mouth...

Brynwood Needleworks - Tag Bein' Nagged

Hi, Everybody!

This is my life these days. sigh I'm bein' tormented by a tiny mouth with four big feet!

I don't want you to think I'm a whiner. I get my licks in whenever I've had enough, but I'm not hurtin' the little pain in the butt, so no need to worry about her. I gotta tell you though, I'm gettin' tired of her runnin' around behind me and bitin' my back end. sheesh!

So, I promised you a video this week, and I've got a doozy. Mom shot some footage of Mini Black Dog playin' out in the yard with Dad. Prepare to be impressed. She's only nine weeks old in the video, and already fetchin'. Fact is, when the bloodline is strong, puppies will do this because it's genetic. They don't even know why they do what they do. Bella whelped a good one here. Carly's gonna be a star someday, but for now...

Here's Carly's video debut. Prepare to be impressed. I sure was! It's not real long, so turn up your sound and pay attention! lol

Can you even stand it? It's so hard to believe that that bundle of talent is the bane of my existence right now. I can't wait until she grows out of this stage, and becomes more of a young lady. I hope life will settle back down for me again. Of course, I'm not countin' on it anytime soon.

Well, I'm gonna go now. You know me. I've got stuff to do, places to go, and people to see.

I'll see you again in seven. 'til then...

Tuesdays With Tag - She's A Nine Week Old Terrorist...

Brynwood Needleworks - Travelin' Tag

 Hi, Everybody!

This has been my look since we got to Florida. I mean. I've been an only dog for four months - and truthfully, I was kinda diggin' it. Then, we take a road trip and I find out that we aren't just bringin' home Boo. She's draggin' one of her kids along! Wait! Wait! Wait! Nobody ran that past me!

Brynwood Needleworks - Carly In The Wildflowers

So we get back to the farm, and I can't turn around without havin' this terrorist jumpin' in my face! When I try to walk away, she bites me in the butt! I growl at her so she'll get the message that I have a "personal space" and she's in it, but so far, it's not sinkin' in. If I didn't know better, I'd think she was laughin' when she runs the other way. (It's like a puppy drive-by!)

Brynwood Needleworks - Don't Let This Face Fool You

Don't let this cute face fool you. There's a black heart under all that black fur! I think she spends her kennel time thinkin' of the most basic ways to tick me off whenever she's free. How's this old guy supposed to get some rest? She's exhaustin'!

Brynwood Needleworks - That Profile

Sometimes she'll lie down like a good puppy...but it only lasts a few seconds, and then she's back after me or her mama. Our only real escape is to run fast and far.

Brynwood Needleworks - Watchin' Mama Run

Then, Her Mini Highness can only stand and watch. I get a breather when it's her mama runnin', and I only wish it would last long enough for me to take a nap.

Actually, she's not so bad. I think I'll like her a little more when she learns some manners and rules for dealin' with her elders. But, I do love her bravery (she went up - and down - the whole big stairs to the second floor - without coaxin' or help!), and her chutzpah. She's frustratin', but I think she's a girl after my own heart.

I admit it. It's perfectly fine with me if she stays here with us. I'm startin' to warm up to her...even if she is a terrorist right now.

I'll see you again in seven. 'til then...

A Rainy Night In Georgia...

Brynwood Needleworks - The Great Smokey Mountains

When it wasn't raining, the weather and view were incredible. We drove most of our day through the Great Smokey Mountains in Kentucky and Tennessee. We went through the Carolinas as we descended, and then down into Georgia - and torrential rains - until we reached Savannah. We were whipped by the time we landed. We ordered Chinese delivery, ate dinner, and went to bed.
Today, we'll drive to our destination, and be with our friends, Mike and Joann...and see Bella and her puppies! We have a six hour drive ahead of us, but the journey will be worth it!

We'll share Mama and puppy pictures, including the daughter (Carly) that we choose to live with us, most of next week, so consider yourself forewarned. Prepare to be as overloaded with cuteness as we are. I have to go now. It's time to get back in the truck for the last leg of our trip south.

Tuesdays With Tag - Seven Weeks Old!...

Brynwood Needleworks - Taggart 06/15/2020

 Hi, Everybody!

Greetings and Salutations From The Farm. I know you're not really interested in my witty reparte', though. You wanna see puppies again, right? Right. Well, I'm not one to disappoint my fans, so read on.

Brynwood Needleworks - Sleepy Seven Week Old Puppies

Taking pictures of six little, light-absorbin' black puppies isn't easy. Especially when they don't even want to get out of bed!

They all got their shots yesterday, and puppies are always sleepy after a trip to the vet for shots, so it is what it is. Remember when they had tiny, waxy triangles for ears? Look at that big floppy ear in the front corner! tee hee I'm still wonderin' if they're gonna stand up straight (the ears), but Mom says Dad would freak if they did.

Brynwood Needleworks - What?

Looks like a few people are awake, but they're not gettin' up for love nor money. Perhaps puppy milk bones should have been offered? Looks like Bubba is wonderin' what's goin' on. Doesn't he have the sweetest face? I think that puppy in the back thinks he makes a good pillow, too.

Brynwood Needleworks - See The Blurry, Wagging Tail?

Wow! Uncle Mike even gave them a Kong™ toy to chew on! Lucky dogs! They look pretty comfy on that platform bed, too, don't they?

Brynwood Needleworks - We're Done, Now

I think somebody's had enough camera time for the day. We'll be seein' them very soon. We're on our way for a quick trip to get Bella and her daughter, to bring them home to the farm. Boo's been on vacation for four months. That's long enough! Time to come home, Black Dog.

Next week, you can expect to see pictures of our dog family...all three of us. I know you're as excited as we are. Mom and Dad aren't lookin' forward to the travel, but we are anxious to see our friends, Bella, and all the puppies together before they go to their new, forever homes. It won't be long now.

I'll see you again in seven. 'til then...

Tuesdays With Tag - Six Weeks Old!...

Brynwood Needleworks - There They Are!

 Hi, Everybody!!
No pictures of my handsome mug today. Just puppy pictures...
and a special surprise when you get all the way to the end of today's post!

Brynwood Needleworks - They Look Like REAL Dogs Now.

Here are the little bugs. They look like real dogs, don't they?
Real adorable dogs!

Brynwood Needleworks - The Whole Litter

All they wanna do it get out to get some attention. They make me want to squeal!!!

Brynwood Needleworks - Come Back Again Next Week, Okay?

They're all hopin' you come back next week to see how much more they've grown, but we've got one more surprise for you...A VIDEO!!! YAAAAYYY! We hope you like this short clip...and apologize for the slightly blurry pictures. (Mom didn't take them, but we're ever so grateful that we have some to share. No complaints here.)

Direct Video Link: https://youtu.be/5EhpL-D7ZNU
Look at those little, waggin' tails! I know. You're speechless, right? Same here. We're dyin' to get to Florida to lie around in the grass with them, play with them, and pick our girl. I'm waitin' to play with Boo again, too. (I really miss her, and might even admit it when I see her!) If you look real carefully, you'll see her in the kennel next to her puppies. So sweet.

Tuesdays With Tag - Five Weeks Old...

Brynwood Needleworks - Taggart

Hi, Everybody!!

The puppies turned five weeks old yesterday, and I've got pictures for you!!
You're gonna scream, they're so cute.

Brynwood Needleworks - Bella's Five Week Old Puppies

How would you like to be greeted by these mugs first thing every day? Wouldn't you just squeal with delight? Mom said she sure would. Dad saw these pictures and turned into a puddle of mush. Really!

Brynwood Needleworks - Bella's Five Week Old Puppies

They're lookin' like real dogs now! Their little waxy flaps look like real ears now - even though they're not standin' straight up like mine. They've got long waggers, too, just like their mama. How many different ways are there to say "cute"?

Brynwood Needleworks - That Face!

That little guy is almost as handsome as his Uncle Tag. Look at that face!! He's gonna be a real lady killer.

Brynwoo Needleworks - Breakfast Time For The Puppies

I'm wonderin' if these guys (and dolls) are part Corgi. Look at 'em belly up to the snack bar. No shy kids here. Keep after it, babies. You need to grow big and strong to wrastle with me!

Brynwood Needleworks - Tag's Gotta Run

I don't know about you, but I just can't stand any more puppy sweetness today. I'm gonna run...

Tag's Waggin' Wednesday - Puppies!!...

Brynwood Needleworks - "Bubba" at Four Weeks Old

Hi, Everybody!

It's Puppy Time!!!

Monday, Bella's puppies were four weeks old. That means their eyes are open and they're toddlin' around their whelpin' box. Be prepared for cuteness overload times seven!!

Uncle Mike is callin' the yellow puppy "Bubba". Isn't he just adorbs? I just wanna squinch his cute, little face.

Brynwood Needleworks - Bella With Her Babies

Bella is bein' a really good mama to all her babies. They're all gettin' big and thrivin' under her watchful eyes. She's still nursin' her pups, until this weekend. I'm sure she'll be happy when the get their first nosh of softened puppy food. They've got little, sharp teeth now, and they can get overzealous when they eat.

Brynwood Needleworks - Bella's Four Week Old Litter

Try not to squeal lookin' at them, okay? Oh, alright. Go ahead. They're just too darn cute! Uncle Mike said that they look up at him when he talks to them, and then start waggin' those cute tails. I can't tell you how much Mom and Dad are whinin' when they look at the pictures. They really wanna be in Florida playin' with puppies. (So do I!)

Brynwood Needleworks - "Pick Me Up, Okay?"

Who could even resist pickin' up a puppy that's lookin' at you like this? Mom and Dad and I will be headin' to get Bella and her daughter the middle of June, but until we get there, we'll be waitin' for more pictures...just like you.

I'll see you again in seven six. 'til then...

Tuesdays With Tag - Piles of Puppies...

Brynwood Needleworks - Bella's Two Week Old Puppies

 Hi, Everybody!

I know you're anxious to see new puppy pictures, so let's get right to it.

Bella's babies turned two weeks old yesterday. That means that, any day now, eyes will open and they'll start toddlin' around. I really wish we were all there to see that!

Don't ya just wanna sniffle that little girl belly stickin' out right there? We can't think of anythin' more fun than a pile o' puppies, whether they're Labradors, Goldens or Corgis! We love 'em all!

Brynwood Needleworks - Bella's Two Week Old Puppies

I didn't get a chance to ask Uncle Mike, but it sure looks like that puppy right ^ there (right front) might be lookin' around already! Once they can see, they can hear, too. Those little waxy-flap ears will start to get longer, and the puppies will start chewin' on each other (and yelpin', too). They're so much fun once they can see. They also start listenin' when people talk to them in chirpy voices. (Mom is a pro at "chirpy"!)

Brynwood Needleworks - Bella's Two Week Old Puppies

So, until they open their eyes, they're just eatin', sleepin' piles of chubby fur. Really, I wish I could just lie down in the middle of their puppy box and let 'em crawl all over me! (So does Mom!)

In case you're wonderin', Bella was outside on break when these pictures were taken. She's definitely still sharin' the puppy box with them, makin' sure they're eatin', and watchin' over them like a good mama. The pictures next week will definitely have their eyes open. I can hardly wait!

I'll see you again in seven. 'til then...

Tuesdays With Tag - Puppy News Flash (and Photos)...

Brynwood Needleworks - Regal Tag

Hi, Everybody!

Now it's time for the post you've been waitin' for...Bella had her puppies- and I've got pictures!!!

Actually, when I wrote my post last week, the puppies were already born, but we didn't find out until Wednesday, because Uncle Mike wanted to make sure everybody was healthy. Mom actually wrote about that last week...but hey, it's my turn now, so apologies for maybe repeatin' some of the news flash! Mom didn't have pictures to share with you, but guess what? I DO!!

Brynwood Needleworks - Bella and Her Puppies

Here's our first pictures of Mama Bella with her beautiful babies. She had seven of 'em...three girls and four boys. The first puppy born was that cute, little yellow boy. After him, all the rest of the puppies were black.

Bella looks tired in the picture, but that partly because she is...and partly because her kennel is probably warm between the Florida heat and a heat lamp that Uncle Mike has to make sure the puppies are warm enough. They look pretty comfy, don't they?

Brynwood Needleworks - Bella's Puppies

Don't they look like little black seals? Soft, shiny black coats can look like that. Now, some people might be wonderin' how there could be a yellow puppy when both Mom and Dad are black Labs. Mom explained it to me so I could tell you.

Yellow coats are a recessive gene in Labradors (and so is Chocolate). Two black Labradors can have a litter of all black puppies, or a litter of black and yellow puppies. A yellow and black Labrador breeding can have either black or yellow puppies, but two yellow parents can only have yellow puppies, and two chocolate Labs can only have chocolate puppies. Whew! Got that?

So, although it's possible that two black Labradors (Bella and Rigby) could technically have yellow puppies, that first, little yellow guy was a surprise. Uncle Mike went back and checked out pedigrees (which list the colors of each dog in the lineage) and found that there were no yellow Labs on Bella's side, but there were on Rigby's side...so, Rigby gets all the credit for his yellow son.

Brynwood Needleworks - Look At That Puppy Tongue!

On the other paw, Bella gets all the credit for that cute, pink tongue stickin' out! hee hee Their eyes won't open until they're two weeks old (and as of today, they're one day past one week old), so that won't happen until next week. Then, they'll start gettin' around and will really be fun.

They're all deaf right now, too. The hearin' part comes later, so they're totally dependent on Mama Bella to take care of them, and she's doin' a bang up job. Uncle Mike says she's really protective of them, and she picks 'em up in her mouth to position them at her milk buffet. You can see that she's doin' a great job of makin' sure they're all gettin' fed.

Brynwood Needleworks - Taggart In The Garden

I can tell you right now that Mom and Dad are just dyin' because they're not snugglin' puppies these days. They'll just have to settle for me until we get to Florida in June. Between now and then, we'll be watchin' for more pictures to share with you, too.

The weather is gettin' nicer here by the day, so Mom and I are passin' time in the garden, weedin' and plantin'. It helps the time pass quicker.

Mom will be back tomorrow, and well, you know what to expect from me, right?

I'll see you again in seven. 'til then...

They're Here!!!!!...

Brynwood Needleworks - Bella's Announcement

When Tag wrote his blog post this week, we had no idea that Bella's puppies had already been born! We got the phone call yesterday morning with the great news. Uncle Mike wanted to make sure everyone was healthy and viable before contacting us.

Bella whelped her litter between 10 am and 4 pm on Monday. She had four boys and three girls, for a total of seven puppies. All puppies were black, except the first puppy, who was a yellow boy! Bella has no yellow puppies in her lineage, but Rigby does, so he gets the credit.

Bella and her puppies are all healthy and doing well, and Bella is being the best mama ever. She gently picks her babies up in her mouth, and lines them up to the "bar" for their meals. She's also fiercely protective of them. If the dog in the next kennel gets too curious, she let it know that they better steer clear. Mike is quite sure that if a bird, lizard, or anything else gets too close, she just might do some serious butt kicking. No one is going to harm her puppies while she's there.

We're waiting for photos, and you can bet I'll share them as soon as I can. We're dying to see what they look like as much as you are.

Thanks to all who said a prayer or thought good thoughts for our girl and her babies. We're so grateful that she and her puppies are healthy.

For those who are wondering...we're going to choose a little girl when we get to Florida. We already have her name picked out, but we're going to wait until she's in our arms to share her name. If you have questions, ask away and I'll do my best to answer.

Thanks again! Hugs to all from all of us.

Tuesdays With Tag - It's Almost Time...

Brynwood Needleworks - Artsy Taggart

 Hi, Everybody!!

We finally have pictures of Bella Dog to share with you! She's a real lumpster these days!

Brynwood Needleworks - Pregnant Bella - A Week Before Whelping

We asked for pictures when Uncle Mike told us there was absolutely no doubt that she's gonna have babies. We got some over the weekend, and heeeeeere's Boo Boo!

She's lookin' a little brown on her back because she spent so much time trainin' outside that her coat bleached from the Florida sunshine! But, check out that belly! Her usual svelt physique is definitely altered by a litter of puppies. We sure can see that she's gonna be a mama.

Brynwood Needleworks - Pregnant Bella

We're sure she's pacin' a little bit these days. After all, her puppies are gonna be born this week! Her due date is May 1st, but she could have 'em any time between now and then. (Gestation is 63 days, so that's how we got to the due date.)

Mom and Dad are gettin' anxious, too. We can't wait to hear that she's had them, how many there are, and whether they're boys or girls! Should I be gettin' ready to send out announcement cards, or just let you know here? Oh, my goodness. Will I be an uncle or an aunt...or both?! Are you curious, too?

Mom will be writin' a post as soon as our girl has her babies. I'll be back next week, and I can't wait to update you myself. We hope you'll say a prayer, or send a good thought, or wish Boo a safe delivery. We'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

I'll see you again in seven. 'til then...

Tuesdays With Tag - I've Got An Announcement...

Brynwood Needleworks - Brynwood's Taggart

 Hi, Everybody!

I'm so excited I can't stand it! I've got a HUGE announcement...

Brynwood Needleworks - Liljegren's Suncoast Bella

We got a call from Uncle Mike over the weekend to confirm that our Bella is densely populated!!! She's definitely preggers, and she's gonna have a passel of puppies! Her due date is May 1st.

We don't have a picture of her with her big belly yet, but we've requested one that I can share with you. We're havin' a hard time imaginin' what she looks like carryin' a tummy full of puppies.

Brynwood Needleworks - Bella As A Puppy

We're lookin' so forward to seein' all of Bella's babies. Can you even envision a whole bunch of little Bellas just like she looked in this picture? Cuteness overload, for sure! (and that's comin' from me!)

Rigby is back home in Texas, and Bella now lives in the whelpin' kennel without a roommate. She's on self-feed - every dogger's dream! - and she won't be doin' her big workouts at the ranch for the duration of her pregnancy. She'll get some easy exercise in Uncle Mike's back yard, but she's gonna be livin' the posh life between now and her due date.

Uncle Mike said she'll probably deliver a few days early (in the middle of the night), so he's already moved the baby monitor and his chaise lounge and birthin' supplies into the buildin'. Anticipatin' the big day, Mom, Dad and I will be keepin' our cell phones close, as we sit on needles and pins for news that her litter has been born. (No. I don't actually have my own cell phone, but you know what I mean.) I know you're all gonna be as excited as we are! Go ahead. Jump up and down, and whoop it up a little. We sure are!

I'll see you again in seven. 'til then...
