Tuesdays With Tag - Puppies Are Jerks...

Hi, Everybody!
Well. I can't say I wasn't warned. Life has drastically changed around here.
After a week of sharin' my space with Bella, I've come to the conclusion that
"Puppies are jerks!"
The only way I can keep her away from my toys is to lie down on 'em!
Don't let this face fool you.
She's lyin' there all cute-like, but that's my ball!
(We aren't even gonna talk about the fact that she was also chewin' on that rug fringe!)
Like that isn't bad enough...Look!
She's busy connin' my vet, Dr. Stephanie. They think Bella's cute.
Pfffffttt! I'M the cute one around here...not that little, black dog!
She's lucky I only saw this picture after the fact. If I'd seen it
in person, I might have had a holy conniption fit on the spot!
Are we seein' a theme here? She appears to like the shelf on the table next to Dad's
chair. I'm mean...What the heck? No one lets me get on the furniture. Well, except
sleepin' in the big bed with Mom, and sittin' on Dad's lap when no one's lookin'.
I'm tellin' ya. This tears it, though. She's impersonatin' a Corgi! She's in full sploot...and playin' with my favorite teddy bear from my GFF! Don't look Quinn. I'm upset enough for both of us. She'd better stop that right now!

I have a feelin' she's here to stay, so I've gotta get after teachin' her a few rules. I can't have her misbehavin' on my turf like this. Perhaps a little frappin' and growlin' is in order. I mean, is this any way to thank someone who helped teach you how to swim? (Yeah. Miss Smartypants is only eight weeks old and she's swimmin' in MY pool already. Try not to be to impressed, ok?) I have my work cut out for me, for sure!

Before I close for today, I have to wish my GFF a Happy Birthday!!!
Quinn is three years old now. Isn't she pretty?

"Hey, Quinn? Ya want another black dog for your present?"
(just kiddin')

I'm sure she doesn't, and Mom said I should tell her that there will be a package in the mail for her by the end of this week. We want to extend her celebration a bit like we do around here. (Don't worry, Quinnie. We won't wreck your day by sendin' the puppersnapper.)

Happy Birthday, Quinn!!!

It's quiet around here right now. I'm sure that means Bella's up to somethin'.
I'd better help...uh, I mean...I'd better stop her bein' naughty. Yeah. That's it.
I'm the big brother, after all. But I still think Puppies Are Jerks!
Time to close for this week. I'm sure I'll have more to tell you next week.

I'll see you again in seven! 'til then...

Tuesdays With Tag - Gifts From Quinn...

Hi, Everybody!

Mom has me posin' on the little footstool today to model one of my surprises from
my sweet Corgi Girl Friend Forever, Quinn! I know it's hard not to look into my
eyes, but I'm modelin' the new bandana that Quinn's mom, Carol made just for me!
It's really great. It's got all kinds of Thanksgivin' stuff all over it. Cool, right?
There were all kinds of goodies in the package that came for me, but I'm tellin'
ya, there's nothin' quite as nice as gettin' a long letter from your girl friend. I'd
tell ya what she wrote, but it's all kinda private. I wouldn't even let Mom read it!

Look at the goodies!!!
Miss Carol made two really neat poo bag holders for me that snap on Mom's belt
loop when we go for walkies. The orange and aqua one is for when we're in Florida,
and the blue one with the bundled up animals on it is for when we're in Wisconsin!
Mom pointed out the nicest special touch on the Florida version.
Look!!! My name is embroidered in lines all across the fabric!
Isn't Miss Carol clever?
Miss Carol also sent along a special gift for Mom. ACORNS!!!
Man. You should have heard her. She startled the daylights outta me!

I think she likes her new earrings. You can tell when she puts 'em on and
then dances around in front of me sayin', "Hey, Tag. Aren't these wonderful?"
I was thinkin' about callin' the Funny Farm to send a wagon to get her!
This is the back of the Wisconsin tote. Miss Carol added a zipper so that we
can do refills when we have to. She really did a nice job on these, I think.
Thank you, Quinnie and Miss Carol.
I know I speak for Mom, too, when I say how much we love everythin'
you sent to us. I was the best lookin' Corgi on the block in my new duds.
I've already got Mom workin' on an idea for you for Christmas!
Before I leave you this week, I just want to take a sec to say
 "Happy Birthday, Mom!"
Tomorrow is her BIG BIRTHDAY!!! She said she's celebratin' a landmark day.
When I figured it out, she's somethin' like FOUR HUNDRED YEARS OLD
in dog years! Poor thing. I guess Dad and I really better pamper her this year!

I gotta go. I'm gonna run out in the yard and make somethin' for her. hee hee
I'm juuuuust kiddin'...
'til next week...

Tuesdays With Tag - Missin' My Girl...

 Hi, Everybody!

I've had a busy week, but it's hard to take pictures of me guardin' the place. So, I want to tell you about sendin' a care package to my GFF, Quinn.

I told Mom that I'd like to send her a few things to let her know she was on my mind. That's what a boyfriend does for his girlfriend, and I'm her boyfriend, after all. I sent her doggie bon bons (biscuits), along with a sample of the food that I eat so she can feel like we're dinin' together, and a fancy, dress up collar in case she has a party or somethin' to go to. (Mom included a few things for Quinn's mom, too.)
Quinn's mom, Miss Carol, sent a few pictures to me after the package arrived. I got to see Quinn checkin' out her presents before they got opened. There she is!!! My sweet girlfriend. Isn't she lovely?
I smiled when I looked at this picture. I can tell that she'd already opened a package by now. I like how she's all perked up waitin' for her mom to give her a taste of one of those crunchy treats!
Quinn must be missin' me, too. I like how she looks in a cap, but I'm pretty sure she's thinkin' about me...or maybe treats...or maybe she wants to go for walkies. Well, either way, I'm positive that she's a pretty girl.
I hope you loved all your presents, Quinn.
Sendin' snuffles and smooches your way.
So, here I sit makin' sure our house is safe from intruders - and thinkin' about how I can get a ride to Quinn's house. Honestly, I'd hitchhike, except I can't. No thumbs, remember? Dang! I gotta learn how to drive!

Well, I'd like to tell you I saved the world, or a cat, or chased off an armadillo this past week, but it's been pretty quiet. Maybe next week. 'til then...

Tuesdays With Tag - My Brown-Eyed Girl...

 Hi, Everybody!
(SORRY THIS IS LATE. PROBLEM WITH AUTO UPDATE)
Well, it's finally time for me to tell you my great news!

Did you notice in my post a couple of weeks ago that I sneaked in
a little question for my long-distance, pen pal, Quinn? I asked
her if she'd go steady with me. Guess what? She said "yes"!!!

So, today, I'd like to introduce you to my new girlfriend, Quinn.
This is my girl when she was just a puppersnapper.
She came to her family from a breeder in Ohio, Lehan Corgis.
Her pedigree name is "Lehan Brings Good Things to Life".
I'll just call her "Quinn" and she'll call me "Tag".
No need to be formal, I don't think.

She has five dog brothers and sisters.
(I don't even know how many I have. I never got my papers from
the breeder. Let's change the subject or Mom will say bad things.)

She also has a person sister named Hayley and brother named James.
They all live in Massachusetts, not too far from Boston. I'm hopin'
that the next time Mom and Dad go to see our family on Nantucket,
we'll be able to go see Quinn and her family, so we can all visit!
As she got bigger, so did her ears. We seem to have that in common.
She was a beautiful puppy, don't you think? Her mom said that they
started looking for her when they read about our Fezzik every week.
(I hear he was a great guy and sure wish I'd been able to meet him.)
This is what she looks like now. Isn't she lovely?
Isn't she wonderful?
(I'm thinkin' Stevie Wonder songs now!)
When Mom was takin' my picture yesterday, she said,
"Tag. Look handsome for Quinn." and this is what I did.
(It's my handsome, inquisitive pose...my camera face!)

Actually, when she showed me all these pictures on her
laptop over the weekend, I stood right up on my hind legs
and stared at Quinn's pretty face. I was quite taken with her!
Quinn's really lucky. She got her picture taken with Santa!
Mom hasn't done that with me yet. (Hint. Hint, Mom.)
Quinn lives with an American Foxhound mix named Witherby.
Looks like a nice guy and it's good that she has someone to keep her
company beside her people family. I hear that he was abandoned in the
woods. Miss Haley found him and brought him home to live with their
family. He's a lucky, older pup but he doesn't like to frap with Quinn.
It's a good thing I'm not the jealous type. I mean, I can still talk to
other girls, and as long as he's good to her, Witherby is just fine by me.
Now, all you girls out there, don't worry. We're not gettin' married or
anythin'. We're too young for that - and there are no puppies in our
future, either. But, it's nice to have someone that I can send presents
to and write little, sweet nothin's to from time to time. I mean really.
How could I ever resist a pretty face like Quinn's? She even sent me
long-distance kisses! So, this song is for you, sweetie. I hope you like it.

I hope you're all happy for us. I'll be back soon to tell you all about my travels.
'til next time...
