Work went really well yesterday. I did what I said I'd do when I got home...immediately changed into my sweats and took off my makeup. Teresa made an excellent batch of broasted chicken that came up just in time for me to leave for home. So we had a hot meal ready to eat when Handsome brought me back to the farmhouse. It was perfect. As you can see, the girls were down with the resting program, too!
Today, I have a few "office" things to do, and then I'm going to finish my bluebird feathers. Handsome and I are going together to my classmate dinner this afternoon. The weather is supposed to take a turn for the worse with record low temps late today, but we'll be settled back at home by then, and not going anywhere again until I work on Friday evening. Our plan is to stay tucked in and safe here until then.
If you're in for some of this bitter cold and snow in the forecast, please stay indoors as much as you're able, and please don't take any chances outside. I'll be praying for everyone's safety. I'll be back tomorrow with our monthly classmate dinner photo. See you then!

Awww, sweet pic! Nothing quite as cozy as having everyone settled in at home with their quilts on a frigid night! Ahh, to bask in the glow of your contented loved ones. Enjoy your dinner date today! 😊
ReplyDeleteHi Lois:
DeleteThank you, dear. All those quilts covering our relatively new sectional makes it look like a flop house. lol But they love being on the sofas, and we don't discourage it. Such is the life with much-loved pets. If we look at them too long, we end up sleeping in our chairs, too. It's contagious! Had a great dinner. Photo tomorrow.
Hugs,
xoxo

Glad you had a good day with a nice, hot meal.
ReplyDeleteThe pups look so comfy on that quilt.
Marilyn
Hi Marilyn:
DeleteWe did, and the best part was I didn't have to cook it! lol I'm always pretty lazy after work days. The girls do love sleeping on the old retriever quilt...or any quilt for that matter!
Hugs. Stay warm, girlfriend.

aaaaah - that's the picture of pure bliss!! It's cold here too and I'm very glad not to have to go out today, although I do tomorrow. Just hope the car will start! Stay warm my friend.
ReplyDeleteThanks, dear. I think so, too. Looks like this week will be dangerously cold for many. I worry about the birds and critters in this weather. I hope they'll all be safe. We haven't seen weather like this for about forty years. I'm definitely not a fan! I hope your car starts, too. Stay safe out there!
DeleteHugs,

Sherryofcreateology : No real cold here and no Snow! We have sunshine and cool temps. I am grateful your work was good. Lots os warmth and snuggles for you and Handsome.
ReplyDeleteHi Sherry:
DeleteYou're fortunate not to be getting this weather. It's going to be dangerous for many...especially the southern states! Work went well, and I continue to rest up when I'm home. We'll be snuggled in until I have to work Friday night, and I'm sure I won't have to work the entire shift because the farm folk won't want to be coming out for food. Handsome will drop me off, and then come back for me, so my car won't be sitting out. Then, we'll be in for the rest of the weekend. Brrrrr!
Hugs,
xoxo

I just love to see pictures of 'pet proof' homes, blankets/quilts over the furniture, pet gates etc., when I see that I know just how loved they are. What's better than synchronized Labs??
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a good work day.
4* here this morning at 7:00 a.m. when I went out to feed my creatures. They always eat before me.
I must say I did look like I could have done an LL Bean outdoor photo shoot.
It's supposed to be -21* Saturday with wind and a foot of snow Sunday into Monday. How many
days until Spring?
Shirley
Hi Shirley:
DeleteThere are times when all the sloppy quilts are a little frustrating. No "Better Homes and Gardens" look around here while we have animals, but I can't imagine our lives without them, so there you have it. You noticed they're syncronized! When Handsome texted the photo to me, he pointed out their matching poses...paws and all. I think it was 11º here this morning, but the wind came up through the course of the day, getting colder. I filled the feeders when I got home from work on Tuesday, and it was just starting to get dark, so the birds had full feeders this morning. I'll refill them in the morning tomorrow when I get up. I'm glad you were bundled up. I wear this silly aviator-type canvas cap with shearling ear flaps. Handsome grins whenever I put it on. Function before form! I think I saw we could get -40º with the wind chill. Ugh! Spring is still too far away for my liking. I guess we just bundle up and wait. Hope you stay safe and warm, dear.
Hugs,
xoxo
