I baked yesterday to stock up for later this month. I made bread and tried a new recipe for molasses cookies - all while I was busy answering the phone all day with upcoming appointment dates.
Seems I have a surgery date - pending clearance from the cardiologist. Tomorrow is my echocardiogram. Then, I have a new pre-op physical therapy appointment; an appointment with the cardiologist to go over the echo results (and hopefully be cleared for surgery); another pre-op consult with the surgeon's office; all leading up to my surgery date the week of July 21st. It's going to get a little busy around here.
In the meantime, I'm going to be doing more baking; making a few "thaw, heat ,and serve" meals for the freezer; and a little more home prepping for when I'm recuperating. I'm not forgetting about my bluebirds, either. Working on the fence embroidery will keep my mind occupied as I get closer to the day of the operation. It's okay, though. I'm getting anxious to get this over with to let the healing begin. Waiting is the hardest part, I think.
Lots to do today, so I'm going to enjoy my morning cuppa and then set about my tasks. Have a great day, and I'll see you again tomorrow.
Waiting. Ugh. Among the most challenging things in life is "waiting." But, it sounds like you made great progress in moving forward yesterday! ...don't they say "good things come to those who wait"... 😉😏
ReplyDeleteHi Lois:
DeleteYou're right. Ugh! We did make progress though. Now to pass my echocardiogram, and we'll be good to go. I hope you have a great weekend!

There's always a lot of lead up appointments before surgery. UGH!
ReplyDeleteI hope you get cleared for the surgery soon.
Marilyn
Hi Marilyn:
DeleteThat's the truth! I'm hoping that I get some idea tomorrow, even though it won't be directly from the cardiologist. I have to wait until next week for that. Waiting... sigh

There's always so much pre-op prep to get done and it sounds as thought you'll be jumping (carefully!) through hoops to get it all done in time. Hopefully all the testing is A-ok and you'll be good to go.
ReplyDeleteHi MA:
DeleteWe had all the appointments set up last time, only to cancel everything. The good news is that my physical therapy appointments will now be twenty minutes closer to home! Considering Handsome will have to do all the driving, this is a happy change of plans. Fingers crossed on the test tomorrow.

Sherryofcreateology: Waiting is the hardest part. Once you are cleared for surgery and you know the date you will be looking forward to it. Lots to do and you do it all so well. I can almost smell those molasses cookies. With lots to do please do not overdo. Prayers for your appointments.
ReplyDeleteHi Sherry:
DeleteI agree. This little hiccup will be resolved soon so we can move forward. It was my first time making molasses cookies, and Handsome and I agree they're delicious. Glad I found this recipe. Happy Weekend, dear.

Sounds like the prep work is crazy! Like getting ready for a colonoscopy !!!! Phoenix is praying.
ReplyDeleteHi Charlene:
DeleteI've done those colonoscopies before. THAT prep work is the worst! Of course, a nice nap the next day is always welcomed. Thanks for your prayers, dear. More soon.

Well you are on your way.
ReplyDeleteIt's all about the timing.
Sending you good thoughts as you glide through all the steps ahead.
Shirley
Thank you, dear Shirley. I think you're right about timing. Once we get this heart issue properly diagnosed, I should be cleared for surgery on my knee. I really don't want any other surprises. I'll keep y'all posted.
DeleteHugs,
xoxo
