Gosh! I was one busy beaver yesterday! Nephew Dan came out to the farmhouse and helped me move a bunch of furniture from one upstairs room to another. Thankfully, my bedroom is back in one piece, so I had a peaceful place to sleep last night.
Today, I'll be wrestling all the minutiae back into place so it won't look like a cyclone hit. I'll take my time (somewhat) so I have calm sooner rather than later, but it all will definitely be back in order before Handsome comes home.
Needless to say, once Dan left I took a shower, changed into sweats and settled into the recliner with a nice, hot cuppa. I put heat on my knees and dozed off for a bit. No worries, though. The dogs always keep me on track, so there's no extended lingering. Animals to be aired and fed. A bite to eat for yours truly, and then I went upstairs to bed early, resisting the urge to move more. One more day (or three) won't matter, and I'm definitely not overdoing it!
So....that's my story for today. I think I'll limit my cleanup time today to a few hours, and then I think I need to make another "spoolie" for the collection. Yes. I'll situate myself in the recliner with an assortment of fabrics and threads and see about a new animal. Opossum, perhaps? I'll be back to visit tomorrow and reveal my newest "little".
Cute Beaver pic!
ReplyDeleteGlad you are taking some relaxation time.

I just inherited a gorgeous antique roll top desk from my parents estate. One spot it would fit and required that room empty to get it in there and maneuver it. ~ yep my studio! The end result is so worth it but holy moly baby this body just ain’t as young and agile as it used to be. Emptying wasn’t too awful until I stopped. But putting it all back took short spurts and a lot of patience. Luckily our Phoenix weather was gorgeous and windows open, fresh breeze and some peppy Eagles tunes got it done.
ReplyDeleteHi Charlene!
DeleteWe had one that we had refurbished years ago. We gave it to our younger son and they enjoyed it for years. Remodeling found it rehomed, but I remember just how voluminous they are. I'm sure you're glad to have it in your creative space. I bet it's wonderful in Phoenix right now. I'm looking for warmer weather here, too. Everything is better with The Eagles! We'll both get our cleanup done..."In the long run". (Sorry. I couldn't resist.)

Sherry of createology: Seems I have missed a lot. Reading back isn’t as fun as keeping up to date. Glad to hear you are taking time to rest and get your knees better. Clever eager Beaver…
ReplyDeleteHi Sherry:
DeleteHope all is well with you, dear. Hoping your absence is because you're traveling, spending time with friends and family, or just having a good time. I'm working on the knees, but I am getting things done. I'm grateful for a strong and willing nephew. Loved your ATC, my friend. Thank you!

I love that illustration! Now why does what seems to be a simple change always require days of upheaval? It's one of the great mysteries of the world that I've never been able to solve.
ReplyDeleteHi MA:
DeleteIsn't it fun? An answer to your query might be "too much stuff". I know that's my issue. Makes me want to hire a 25 yd. dumpster, placed right outside the studio window! Whenever I'm not sure what to do with something, I could just chuck it out the window! Life sure would be simpler. Someday.

I did something similar a few weeks ago.
ReplyDeleteYou said that like such a lady, 'minutiae back into place' my words are more like
'let's get this crap back in order and why did I ever start this project.'
Same results I guess. But it sure is so nice to step back and look at the end result.
And then that gets me started thinking about what can I rip apart next.
Enjoy your progress.
Shirley
Hi Shirley:
DeleteI just laughed out loud. I wrote like a lady, but during the process, I spoke like a sailor. I think my nephew appreciates it. lol I'm not in the mood to rip more apart as much as I'd really like to call in a liquidator for a lot of it. Then, again...I do love my stuff. I just don't like not having places for all of it. Something will give soon. I'm preferring elbow room in my old age. Thanks, dear.
