Fabric Choices...

This is the flannel print I've chosen for Grandson's jammies. I love the plaid and may even make a pair for his Grandpa, too!

This flannel print is for one of the granddaughters (likely the younger one - who is now 17). Too childish, or do you think she'll like them?

I can't make up my mind here. I love both prints. Probably for Granddaughter #1. What do you think? Either one? Neither? (If it's the plaid, they'll be pj pants. If it's the floral, likely a nightgown.) It's okay. Be honest. I can take it, and I still have time to go in a different direction.

  1. Love your fabric choices. The Grands will love them whichever fabric you use because you made them. Happy sewing. Bev

  3. I also went with a plaid (blues and grays) for my grandsons' jammies - love that masculine (and comfy cabin) look! I think the garden gnomes are fun, not at all juvenile. And I love the roses (the sisters could have a garden theme 😉) and I actually think they would make beautiful pj pants accompanied by a soft white thermal top that has scalloped edging. 😆 But, that's all just MY opinion, and you already have a successful track record so I know whatever YOU decide will be wonderful and appreciated by your Grands! (BTW, I went with large daisies on a blue background for my girls...and I can't wait to see everyone in the pj's - the grands always make everything look so much better! 🥰)

    1. Hi Lois:
Looks like we're on the same wavelength this year! I love your idea for the white thermal top. Now to find some! I'm looking forward to seeing them wearing them, too! Happy Sewing, dear.

  4. Our sons are getting plaid, one daughter-in-love is getting panda bears and the other a subtle floral swirl. Grandies each are getting themed according to what they are currently 'in' to. I suspect that your granddaughter would prefer loungers because they seem to be the thing right now.

    1. Hi MA:
You and I are also thinking alike! I think it gets harder to choose fabrics the older they get (especially the girls). I'm pretty safe choosing plaid flannel for our grandson. Are "loungers" the same as pj pants and tops, or something else? Do tell!

    2. Pj pants - loungers, same thing! Our adult family prefer them (and I must admit we do too). We all put them on as soon as we arrive home. We combine them with either a t-shirt in the summer or a long-sleeved warm top in the winter. Comfort at its best!!

  5. Sherry of createology: I love all the fabrics you have chosen. For me I would select the rose print…however for Granddaughter I think the plaid is what she would like. Happy sewing dear.

    1. Hi Sherry, dear:
Thanks so much. I looked at the fabrics again this morning and I agree with you. The rose print is better. (I'll save the plaid for napkins!) lol
I'm looking forward to your ATC mail, by the way. Yours is posted and should be there soon.
      Sending hugs in the envelope.
