Saturday Silliness...

I'm taking it easy today. We had a light night at work, so I was home early. I'm glad, too, because it's been a busy two days.

I went downstairs yesterday morning to find a sick girl in her kennel. Carly had a rough night, and it took Handsome and me at least an hour to clean up Carly, her crate, and the room. Bella couldn't wait to be sprung from her kennel to get away from it all.

Carly had light rations all day and seemed much better by last night, so we think we have things under control. I'm blaming it on her sneaking into the dish of wet cat food, but Handsome thinks she ate some of what she rolled in outside the morning before. Either way, I hope that doesn't happen again. It's not really how we like starting our days.

Handsome and I are going to check out some linoleum remnants to see if we can find something suitable for under the girls' crates. If this happens again, I really don't want to have to take a scraper between the floor boards to clean things up. If I can talk him into it, I may see if we can get a piece large enough for the entire room, which is about 11' x 14'. I do love the original wood floors, but there's the small matter of practicality.

Anyway...as I was saying, I'm going to put my feet up and not do much today. I hope you enjoy the little chuckle. See you tomorrow!

    1. Hi Mary:
LOL. I'm sure I have, too. Those guys really get around. Thank you, dear. I'm being very careful, having added a knee brace to the ensemble. I'm glad it's not too hot out yet, because all these layers - plus an occasional hot flash - would make things pretty uncomfortable.

    1. Hi Marilyn:
I'm glad you liked them as much as I did. Carly was still a little sensitive Sunday morning, but we gave her some doggie anti-"scoot" meds, and kept her on the rice/boiled chicken regimen (which she really likes). Made sure she got probiotics, too, after cleaning out her system. She's doing much better as of Sunday evening. Thanks for your concern, dear. Work was a breeze, too. Walleye Weekend at Lake Winnebago had most folks getting their fish fry elsewhere. I got to go home early.
Hope you have a great week, my friend.
      Hugs,
      xoxo

  3. Thank you for the smile, but sorry that Carly wasn't well. Poor girl (and poor you, having to do the clean up afterwards).

    1. Hi MA:
It was not how I like to start my day (with a sick dog) for sure, but once he came downstairs to see the catastrophe, Handsome took over. I don't do that sort of cleanup very well. All these years of having dogs (and now cats), and "picking up" always makes me...well, you know. Carly's feeling much better now, thankfully. I'm glad you liked the insect cartoon. It made me giggle, too.

  4. Have a very good rest!
Clean ups are draining. Wishing y’all the best finding floor covering. I learned recently some floor tiles are rated waterproof for kitchen and baths.

    1. Hi May!
I did get a lot of "not much" done this weekend. I sure miss the kennel buildings we had a two of our last four homes. Cleanup was a shovel and a hose. Cement floors with drains was sure a lot easier than hardwood floors and carpet mats. By the time I delivered baked goods and visited, I ran out of time to shop for floor covering before I had to get home and get ready for work. Now that she's feeling better, getting something for the floor will go on the back burner for a little while. I'm definitely going to find something, though, because we have gaps in the boards of our 108 year old floors. Definitely not conducive to that sort of abuse. I'll look at floor tiles while we're out, too. Thanks for the recommendation.
