Our sweet Carly turned FIVE yesterday!! Both Handsome and I were home all day, so we could spend the day pampering our girl. She got a great workout in the yard in the morning, and finished the day with extra treats. In between were snuggles and a few other 'triever-approved snacks.
She had so much fun, in fact, that she's already looking forward to Number 6. Us, not so much. Time passes much too quickly as it is, and we're content to slow time down for our pups. The more time we have with them, the better.
I'll share more photographs tomorrow from the weekend, but today it's all about our pretty Carlita Puppita Mamacita. That's my nickname for her. She likes it, too!
I'm working today to fill in for a co-worker who's already given her notice and now can't make it to work today. Nice, huh? I don't mind at all, though. Then, I'll have my regular hours tomorrow and Friday evening. I'm planning to get some "bluebird time" in mid-week, but for now I'd better get moving. Don't want to be late for my "Donna to the rescue" hours!
Happy Birthday Carly!
ReplyDeleteShe's beautiful.
You are always so kind to fill in for other people.

Hi Marilyn:
DeleteI'll pat her on the head from you! I really try hard to help out at work, but I'm not as young as I used to be. I have to nap once I sit down at home, but thank you for saying so, hon.

Five? Already???? The birthday girl does indeed deserve special skritches and treats.
ReplyDeleteHi MA:
DeleteI know! How can it even be? She has been getting lots of affection (along with her Mama) for sure.

Sherryofcreateology: Happy Birthday Sweet Carly. Another year of retrieving and snacks as you travel around the sun! Happy working Donna Dear.
ReplyDeleteHi Sherry:
DeleteThanks, dear. She loves both - in fact, so much, that we're not sure which she loves more. I'm glad I have a couple days off now before I go back. Had a quitter that necessitated us "mature" employees stepping up. I'm working a full shift on Friday, too this week and next. I think I need a raise, or at the very least new, comfy shoes. These work jobbers I'm wearing are killing my feet after standing in them all day. sigh This, too, shall pass.

Hi Judy:
ReplyDeleteThanks for asking. I'm a cashier at a local gas station/convenience store/restaurant. I only usually work around 10 hours a week, but lately picked up more hours after some of the younger employees quit. Seems hard to find good help these days, so we're fortunate to have a core of dedicated women who manage to pick up the slack. I'm the oldest of the crew. I think the closest next one in age is in her late fifties.
