Rex The River Otter...

Knowing this is my newest spoolie, I'm sure many of you were thinking I'd name this little guy "Steve" after the famous comic otter featured in many of my Saturday Silliness posts. But I was specifically asked by Handsome not to. (If you know, you know.) I honored his request and named my latest spool animal, "Rex the River Otter" instead.

I'd love to have a small snail, stone, or a wee crab in his paws, but until I find or create such a think, I'm going to leave him as is. No necktie. No vest or jacket. Just Rex au naturel.

What do you think? Does he look like an otter to you? He's a wee bit larger than my other spoolies, but not enough to require a larger spool. Feedback appreciated.

I have another blissful day off today. Time for a bit of homekeeping, and then I'm going to work a bit more on my bluebirds. A little zen stitching before I go back to work tomorrow. aaaaahhhhhh

    1. Hi Lois:
Thanks so much, dear. Rex was really fun to create. You're so kind, dear.
There was a lot more resting than stitching, I'm afraid. I really needed to take it easy. I'll stitch again soon.

    1. Hi Marilyn:
Me, too! Do you ever see them in the river near your place? When we lived near Campbellsport, we had a creek on our property. I happened to see one eating a fish once when I was out hiking with the dogs. It's was so cool!

  3. I never would have guessed an otter! He's adorable. I went looking through my stash to see if I might have a snail but sadly I don't. If you check the craft supplies at the dollar store you might find one that's meant for scrapbooking.

    1. Hi MA:
Thanks for looking, dear. I think I'll find a tiny pebble or trinket for him to hold. I'll look at Hobby Lobby to see if they might have something. I'll also check my button stash first, too. I may have some shell-shaped buttons in there.

    1. Hi Sherry:
I sure did have fun making him. It's interesting to me that, in spite of the fact that I really don't know exactly what I'm doing, it seems to work out in the end, and my little spoolie resembles what I tried to create. Who knew? Certainly not I! Thanks, dear.

Surprise! I'm so glad you can see what I tried to create in his face. I'm sure anything he would say could be a little otterly snarky. lol Thanks so much, dear.
