"Christmas In The Wood" by Philip Vinton Clayton (1865-1946) |
I'm sure you can understand why I love this image so much. I'd like to think that this sort of shenanigans take place in our "habitat" when I take treats down to feed our resident critters. We still don't have lasting snow on the ground this season (but we're supposed to get 3-5" on Thursday), so I have only taken down apple, carrot, corn, and a couple other fruit/vegetable snacks so far. I won't be putting down anything that will attract the resident coyotes any closer to the farmhouse than they already come.
I'm hitting the ground running today. I have three double batches of cinnamon rolls to make and frost by 2 pm today. I have our monthly classmate dinner at 3 pm, and a couple four packs to drop off to two of the gals at work on my way to the restaurant. Of course, there have to be some for here, and a four pack for our neighbors.
I'd love to chat, but I have a lot to do. Enjoy this image and I hope it makes you smile as much as I did. I'll be back tomorrow with our monthly group photograph.
Love that image!
ReplyDeleteYou are going to be busy today.
Have a fun dinner get together.

Hi Marilyn:
DeleteGlad all that happened Wednesday instead of Thursday. Sounds like we're going to get a LOT of snow. Stay safe and warm!

There are so many little details in that image - wonderful! Sounds like you have another busy day and I'll bet your house is going to smell absolutely divine.
ReplyDeleteHi MA:
DeleteIsn't it cute? Yes. I got home from dinner and was hit in the face with the aroma of cinnamon rolls as soon as I walked in the back door. It was great! lol I'll be busy from now until the day after Christmas. Then I can rest. Hope you're projects are going well, too!

Sherry of createology: This is such a wonderful image and it brings a smile to my heart. Your cinnamon rolls are getting famous! Careful day dear. Enjoy your great dinner group.
ReplyDeleteHi Sherry:
DeleteI love everything about that image. Wouldn't it be a fun piece to stitch? (It might take a while. lol) One of the gals bought the two extra packages I took with me. She said the last time she had them, her grandson came to visit and had them. The next time he said, "Grandma, do you have any of those great cinnamon rolls?" She said she had rolls, but not those. He ate one, and when she asked if it was okay, he was less than enthusiastic. He's coming again on Friday, so she's going to surprise him with more of mine. Heartwarming. We had a great gathering, and I was spent when I got back home. Take care, dear.

Love that image too. I think they heard 'cinnamon rolls'.
ReplyDeleteNow that is an off and running morning. Enjoy your dinner.
Mostly rain at night for us and in the 50 - 60 degrees the last few days, unheard of for us.
But Sunday we return to the single digits, no snow (fine with me).
Shirley
Hi Shirley:
DeleteYou think they did? lol That's cute. No rain here, but we're really overdue for snow and a real winter, so I guess we shouldn't complain. Farmers that came into the store on Tuesday said we could get up to 9" before it's over today. I'm not looking forward to that one, little, bit! Enjoy your weather, and stay warm, my friend.
xoxo
