Remember Her?

Web Image

Do you remember the song about "dancing like no one is watching"? I told a friend once (and now I'm telling you) that I loved taking my boom box (I know. I'm dating myself. It's okay.) and my dogs, Bannor, Bryn and Kyra, out into our 40 acre training field. I'd start up the music, call in the dogs, and we'd all dance and be silly together. I only did this when Handsome wasn't home for fear he'd have me committed. (Not really, but I wanted to be safe.)

I know that silly woman is always alive in me, ready to bust a move on a moment's notice. I like to be the crazy aunt or the funny grandma. I want to be remembered for the fun things I've done with them. One of my older nephews has frequently told me that some of his favorite childhood memories were times spent with me. His sister has said the same thing, and it warms my heart whenever I hear it.

I'm working today, but I won't forget to let out my silly girl from time to time. She's someone I never want to lose or forget. She's someone I want my grandchildren to know. She's someone I love and like to share with others.

The important thing is that you don't hurt anyone by taking time to do something wonderfully silly for yourself. It renews your spirit. It lightens a regular day. It brings a smile to your face and joy to your soul. Go on. Promise yourself to find that inner child again - or if you know where she is, let her out this week. Celebrate you!

Tuesdays With Tag - Dashin' Through The Snow...

Taggart, The Snow Dog

Hi, Everybody!

We got another snow day, and Mom wasn't the only one enjoyin' the white stuff. While she was takin' pictures to show you yesterday, The Black Dog and I were havin' our own fun runnin' around our yard. We were playin' and bein' snow fools!

Runnin' Bella Dog

The Black Dog loves to run around, tryin' to torment me. Those long legs can be a bit of an advantage in the tall snow, but age and guile can outwit youth and speed any day. (At least that's what Dad tells Mom all the time. hee hee)

Snow Dog, Liljegren's Suncoast Bella

I wanted you to see this picture. Bella loves to "snowplow" when she runs. So when she stops, Mom and Dad just laugh at her. You can tell by her expression, she's not quite sure what's so darn funny. Silly girl.

Tearin' Through The Woods

This is one of our favorite places to hang out on our property. Boo and I usually find rabbits or squirrels runnin' around back here, but when we're called, we skeedaddle! As you can see, I like to make sure I didn't miss anythin' before I leave.

Runnin' Corgi

But, once I set my mind to it, I'm quite the stylish runner. Don't you agree? I might amaze you to see just how fast I can run - snow or no snow! I can tear around the yard with the best of 'em.

Brynwood's Taggart

Now, just where is that Black Dog?

Corgis Can Run In The Snow!

There she is! Time for me to go. I think I have a little Labrador/Corgi business to attend to. If you're lookin' for us, we'll be dashin' through the snow.

I'll see you again in seven. 'til then...
