Menopause has made life difficult for my weight loss desires. I'm going to keep plugging along with that and be happy for small victories. You're not alone.
Hugs,
xoxo
DonnaBrynwood Needleworkshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12025334306730418679noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5258439638299238385.post-6692552223614257952022-01-03T23:35:52.037-06:002022-01-03T23:35:52.037-06:00Hi Lois:

The things that are most difficult for me are the things to which I'm emotionally attached...a memory, a gift from a dear friend, my fondness for family history...arrrgggghhh! It's inspirational to read your story about moving on from something you really loved. Thank you. I'll keep you posted.
Hugs,
xoxo
DonnaBrynwood Needleworkshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12025334306730418679noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5258439638299238385.post-80547795222880432982022-01-03T23:33:02.629-06:002022-01-03T23:33:02.629-06:00Hi MA:

I cleaned the pantry and put the small appliances we use (but not all the time) into a cleaned out cabinet in the basement. I won't be able to find anything in the pantry for a while, but it sure looks organized! lol
Hugs,
xoxo
DonnaBrynwood Needleworkshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12025334306730418679noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5258439638299238385.post-6886565320908674762022-01-03T10:25:18.097-06:002022-01-03T10:25:18.097-06:00Excellent word for 2022. She is decluttering 22 things each month and she began in December. I thought WOW but once I began it was amazing how many things I could donate to charity and how much I could eliminate from my mind. My body weight is the worst challenge I have ever faced (old age?). Sometimes we can feel like a slave to our possessions, occupying too much of our time in trying to take care of unnecessary items... and that of course weighs on our minds, keeping us from better thoughts. In recent years I've been making efforts to declutter (sometimes ruthlessly) so that I can truly enjoy those things (...activities...people!) that matter most to me. Last year I sold my large quilting frame because I knew I really wouldn't be hand-quilting anymore... irritated my back, took up way too much room, wasn't my favorite creative outlet, yadayadayada... I agonized over that decision, but once it was in the hands of the new owner - who was absolutely delighted to get it - I felt wonderful! Gone was that nagging feeling that I really should be using it! Woohoo! I wish you a successful year of decluttering! And much more time for happy creating! I don't actively do that but I think, if I did, this year I would use the word 'resiliency'. January here at Chez Magpie has traditionally been a month that involves decluttering and cleaning - a throwback to the theory my mother lived by. She never did the traditional spring or fall housecleaning and instead preferred to do it all in January. I guess it's rubbed off on me. Although - can't say the urge has struck me this year as yet!Magpie's Mumblingshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09852241848575954128noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5258439638299238385.post-23480604346117808222022-01-03T07:18:08.192-06:002022-01-03T07:18:08.192-06:00Great word choice.
