Four More Finished Feathers...

Well, technically, they're not finished until they're finished. I still have to put the backing muslin on them, cinch them into the hoop, attach the felt back, ribbons and verses. Then, they'll be finished.

It was dangerously cold outside yesterday, but sunny, so it was a perfect day to plop myself in front of my favorite window and stitch the day away.

Today, I'll be going back to work. We'll see how that goes. I'm feeling much better, and I'm not gasping for air when I walk around, so I think I'll be fine. Even so, I'm planning to come home, change into my sweats and share a meal with Handsome that my coworker Teresa prepared in the store before I bring it home. I don't want to work all day (my first day back), and then come home and make dinner, too!

It's good to have a plan. Don't you think? See you tomorrow.

  1. The feathers are so pretty.
Please wear a mask when you go out today, the cold & wind is wicked, you don't want to get sick again.
It's going to be a very cold week.

    1. Hi Marilyn:
Thanks, dear. I took all precautions going to work. Bundled up, and Handsome drove, so all I had to do was run from the truck to the front door (a few feet). I don't want to get sick again either. I'm being very careful. I have a small spray bottle of hydrogen peroxide at work. Handle money. Spray my hands. Answer the phone (already disinfected), spray again. Washing my hands the rest of the time, and keeping them away from my face. Stay warm indoors. Handsome is going along to the classmate dinner Wednesday, but our plans are to stay indoors until I have to work Friday night. Then right back in for the rest of the weekend!
      Please stay safe, my friend.
      Hugs,
      xoxo

  2. So glad to see you back, Donna!! (Didn't get to comment yesterday. ) A bit of feather stitching is just what the doctor ordered, huh?! 😊 We have been surrounded by folks experiencing that wretched sickness, so we take our vitamins and use hand sanitizer like it's going out of style... Please do take great care in going back to work today...you are very brave to do so. Being the social butterfly that you are, I'm sure you're starting to experience a bit of cabin fever. You and Handsome keep taking your vitamins, drinking plenty of fluids, and getting your rest...the calendar says Spring is only about 2 months away... hang in there!

    1. Hi Lois:
Glad to be back, hon. As you can see from my comment to Marilyn, I was abundantly cautious at work. I DO NOT want to get sick again. I'm taking all my vitamins, plus a few extras that I wasn't taking before. I'm also drinking Kefir to replenish my gut health. Is that TMI? lol I'm looking forward to spring, but it looks like we're going to have at least a rough week ahead. I'll take great care. Same to you, dear.
      Hugs,
      xoxo

  3. I didn't realize the feathers would be mounted in hoops - good idea! I wondered if perhaps they were going to become something like bookmarks.
Glad you're feeling up to going back to work but be sure to bundle up warmly and as Marilyn suggested, wear a mask for additional safety. You don't want to catch anything else!

    1. Hi MA:
Yes. I guess I just realized that I shared a video of them on Instagram, but not here. I'll share that later this week so you can see how they're finished. I'm being extra extra careful. I do not want to get sick again. Thanks for your concern, dear.
      Big hugs,
      xoxo

  4. Pretty feathers. My Bluebirds are enjoying snacking on Lyric Fine Tunes, it's small peanut pieces.
I thought they would head a little farther South, but maybe they are enjoying their buffet here.
Hope your work day went well, I like that dinner plan, always good to have a plan. I think you will
    sleep really well tonight.

    1. Hi Shirley:
Thank you, dear. I'm so worried about "my" birds with the incoming weather event. It's supposed to be dangerously cold and snowy. I'm also concerned for the birds that aren't used to it in the south. This is going to be hard on them, especially. Work went really well, although I did end up putting a stool near the cash register so I could sit once in a while. Dinner was perfect, too, because I didn't have to cook and cleanup was minimal. Lots of resting with a warm cuppa after dinner. Planning to sleep like a log!
      Hugs,
      xoxo
