| Our Wedding Day |
Forty one years ago today, I married my Handsome. Twenty eight of our family and closest friends gathered in the living room of our first home (another farmhouse) to witness our vows. Afterward, we went to a local venue for dinner, and then opened our reception to two hundred fifty of our friends. It was the best day ever!
In 1984, the snow melted and the temperature reached 60ยบ F. We had a jazz band perform and we danced until closing time. We were the last two to leave our reception, thanking every single guest before they departed. Two days later, we boarded an airplane for a two week honeymoon in Grand Cayman, BWI.

| Handsome and Me 41 Years Later |
This year, we're expecting 2-6" of snow with winds up to 45 mph. Quite different from our wedding day. We'll stay safely home together with the girls this time.
I've called Handsome "My Heartbeat" many times before, and it will always be so for me. I'm never happier than when we're together, and so I'll make a nice dinner for us, and I'll spend this day grateful for the life we've built. Looking forward to many more celebrations.
Happy Anniversary, Love.

Happy Anniversary!!
ReplyDeleteYou look so pretty, & your dress is gorgeous.
Of course, Handsome is well.....Handsome!
Nice pic of both of you & the girls.
Have a nice day!
Marilyn
Hi Marilyn:
DeleteThank you, girlfriend. I did love that dress, and although it no longer fits, I still have it. Handsome always has been a looker! We couldn't get the pups to sit in front, so some of the outtakes are really funny where they're trying to see around us! lol
Hugs,
xoxo

Such a great post. Enjoy your special day. You can open the anniversary present now! It’s gloomy in Phoenix, maybe rain again. Loving our weather.
ReplyDeleteHi Charlene!
DeleteThanks, dear. It was a quiet one at home, but we spent it together and that's what counts. We got snowed on last night and it's still going now. When we lived in Florida, I used to say, "At least we don't have to shovel rain!". We were out shoveling snow this morning, and I refilled the bird feeders. The birds sure appreciate it!
Happy New Year!

Happy Anniversary.
ReplyDeleteYour dress was beautiful, oh the '80's they were the best.
Two great pics.
Hope you had a wonderful day. Wishing you many more happy, healthy years ahead.
And the first pic proves my 'eye level' theory, just sayin.
Shirley
Hi Shirley:
DeleteThank you. I agree! The 80s were the best. I had just celebrated my 30th birthday the month we were married. My first and only marriage. I waited for the best, and have spent my life grateful for not rushing. God knew exactly who I needed and sent him to me. I'm laughing again with your last sentence! I hung all the photos in our home (and still do!) lol
Happy New Year, dear.
xoxo

ReplyDeleteHi Sherry:
DeleteThank you, dear. I hope we're an example to our sons and grandchildren. I know nieces and nephews are watching, too. I pray we have many more years together, too.
