Wishing you a full and speedy recovery. You know I am a hit an miss when reading. Sorry I’m late. My friend’s grandmother always said to eat walnuts and apples to get the “stuff” out of your body after surgery. We are getting ready for an AK cruise plus a land portion. I am SO excited! Today we have a chiropractor appt, lunch at Rajun Cajun, which we only go to when we have a chiropractic appt (in town). Then a couple of errands and I really need to go through my projects. Last night I realized I am not going on a retreat for a week to sit and stitch daily. I currently have 7 cross stitch projects, 3 woolwork projects and 5 bead projects that I need to make 2 of each. Way too much for even a single stitching retreat, but I would take them b/c I could. I really don’t have the room and won’t get to 90% of what I’ve selected to go. Maybe I’ll go make a pass through them now. Have a great day!
Hi Bobbi: Walnuts and apples sound delicious! I'll definitely take her advice. Thanks. My sister, Jan is in AK with her husband right now! They're in the Juneau area, with all the drama of the Mendenhall Glacier causing a flood event. They're safe and still having a great time, but those of us at home are keeping a close eye on the news and are in regular contact with them. They're on vacation a total of two weeks, with one week behind them and scheduled to fly out on Sunday. I'll be glad when I know they've landed back home. Your retreat sounds fabulous! I can't wait to hear more about it. When do you leave? Hugs, xoxo Donna
Sorry, a week ago I got together with dear friends for a Mon-Fri retreat. I started and finished 3 cross stitch projects and started a 4th. I wasn’t in the mood for beading and woolwork. When we go to AK, I’m going with my hubby. Not a retreat. So I really need to pare down what I’m taking. Talked to a designer (new) friend yesterday, she said she was pulling the mom card and I could take 2 items only. I convinced her to agree to 3, so I’ll probably take 4. I just hate getting stuck in an airport and finishing what I brought and not have something readily available. Tee hee hee. Squirrel! When my son was young (now he’s 40), we lived in OK and I got one a plane to ??. I brought two projects with me. Hemming his school shorts, that were once pants, and hemming a dress I made for my niece. A lady next to me said, “Oh I haven’t sewn in years! Could I?” Who am I to say no. We chatted and stitched. At one point she had been a Home Ec teacher. Neither of us realized we were sitting on the plane, on the ground and hadn’t left. My projects were complete before we took off. I so wish I had gotten her name and address. What a delight she was.
Your mojo will return when your body is up to it. Just just push yourself else you make a mess of what you're trying to do. As for what I'm doing - putting the finishing touches on the Victorian haunted house landscape I've been working on. Today we're having lunch with my family that live about an hour away. Feeling grateful that we at least got a little bit of rain overnight. Not enough, but we'll take what we can get.
Hi MA: You're absolutely right. I tend to be an impatient patient. lol I'll have to go over to your blog to see what your piece looks like. I bet it's cool! I hope you enjoyed the day with your family, and I understand about the rain. We finally got a couple days' worth and it was bliss. Hugs, xoxo Donna
Sometimes the Mojo gets stomped on when our bodies have been through the ringer, and it takes time to recover, too. You are atleast now looking for your mojo, and that's a good sign. 😊 It's wise to know when to rest and when to push through. It's impressive and encouraging that you are making such strides through PT. I was thinking that you and Handsome need a break from all the caretaking, but then also thought about how you have often said something like..."this is what we do"... It is a privilege to be able to take care of those we love, and especially as we grow older, we are extremely blessed to be able to continue to share both the good and bad with our beloved. Prayers for continued healing and for more "good"!
Hi Lois: That's the gospel truth! I'm doing my best with the PT, but it sure isn't always easy. sigh Thank you for remembering Handsome and my motto. You got it right. We really do take good care of each other, and he's been great this time. Nothing better than being cared for by your best friend/beloved. Thank you for the continued prayers. Hugs, xoxo Donna
Not to worry, mojo will return. I am giving my embroidery machine a workout. Doing a Christmas wallhanging and freestanding lace ornaments. Also finishing a Quilt of Valour. Keep up the good work with your physio and healing.
Hi Bev: I'll be ready when it comes back! lol A Christmas wall hanging and ornaments sound fabulous! The last Quilt of Valor I made was for my dad. It went with him when he was cremated, per his wishes. He loved it, and I loved making it for him. Each and every one is so appreciated. Thank you for your contribution to the effort. I'll do my best with pt and healing, dear. xoxo Donna
Sherryofcreateology: Your Mojo will return when your body is healed enough. You are a stellar student at your PT. I am so proud of you for keeping with the exercises that promote healing.
Hi Sherry: Thanks, dear. I'll be ready when it does, too. I'm doing my pt, but man. I think it's about the hardest thing I've ever done...or maybe it's just my age. Either way... sigh xoxo Donna
Ms. Mojo Muse knows that both she and you need a bit of creative downtime. She will be back and it will be with a vengeance, ask me how I know. In the mean time, check out Wisconsin's 'spicerjackjack' on instagram. Shirley
Hi Shirley: I know you're so right. It's just the "in between" that's difficult. I'm off to check out spicerjackjack as soon as I sign off! Thanks for the recommendation. xoxoxo Donna

Your Mojo will come back soon.
ReplyDeleteYour body has to get rid of those nasty anesthetics, it takes awhile.
I am crocheting a cowl.

Hi Marilyn:
DeleteI know you're right. It all seems to be taking so long, but I know it's really not. Oh, a cowl sounds lovely! Enjoy, dear.

Sorry, the four legged baby wanted his breakfast and was getting vocal. The above post (AK cruise) was from Bobbi.
