I'm always eastbound on my way home from work. This was my view as I got to the end of our road and the start of our driveway. The big moon was rising in the east above the pine trees. (I stopped the truck and got out to take this photograph.)
Then, I drove up our drive to see the sun going down behind the woods above the farmhouse. It was quite a sight, to be sure, and it wasn't even five o'clock yet.
I went inside and let the girls out as they'd been crated for nearly seven hours. Then I went about the nightly chores of feeding big and little girls, changing out of my work clothes, and sitting down to eat the dinner I'd brought home with me. It was a long day to be on this still-healing knee.
Today will be better. I don't work again until Friday night, so the most I'll have to worry about between now and then is "letting the girls in/letting the girls back out again". lol We're supposed to get more snow this afternoon, so it will be interesting to see just how much we end up with.
Stop by tomorrow and I'll share what I accomplish (hopefully something creative) when I see you. Have a great day!
Pretty pictures, we have some fabulous sunsets here.
ReplyDeleteI hope your knee is healing.

Hi Marilyn:
DeleteThank you for your concern, dear. I hope your ankle is healing, too! I bet you have some wonderful sunsets over the river.

Beautiful moon and sunset. I'm often astounded when I see the moon and the sun at the same time because somehow it doesn't seem quite right. I'm sure all the girls were happy to see you return after a long day.
ReplyDeleteHi MA:
DeleteI'm glad I'm not the only one intrigued by the phenomenon. That's actually the reason I took the photos. My sister, Di and I discuss this frequently. The girls were anxious to get out, and then we spent the rest of the evening hanging out together. They're mostly good girls. lol

The kid in me is loving your snow! I rarely get it here and to me a snowy scene just seems to be so peaceful. And the moonrise and sunset crossing paths is icing on the cake.
ReplyDeleteI hope your knee keeps healing. It will be good for you to have a few days to rest it. - Kathy
Hi Kathy:
DeleteThis snow is particularly pretty. It's light and fluffy - and sparkly. It snowed all day Wednesday and when I went to bed at midnight, it was still coming down. Thank Heaven for Andy who'll come tomorrow to make sure our driveway is clear. He's a real blessing. Knee is much better, thanks. No problems walking down the stairs. Going up is still one at a time as it's hard to put weight on and then pull myself up on the sore one. It was such a bonehead accident, if it didn't hurt to do it, I could kick myself. lol Thanks, dear.

Sherry of createology:: It is always so good to come home. I love to see the Moon in the daytime. The girls must have been ecstatic to see you after such a long day. Rest will be good for you and your knee.
ReplyDeleteHi Sherry:
DeleteYou're so right. It's my happy place, for sure. Daytime moons always intrigue me. I found out that while my boss is on vacation, I'll have one nine hour day. I already have permission to take a 1/2 hour in the middle of the day to come home and let them out. I explained that, with Handsome in FL, nine hours is just too long for the girls to be crated without a break. Everyone at work has dogs, so getting the break to drive three miles home and back wasn't a hard sell. I know the girls will appreciate it. More knee rest for sure. Thanks, dear.
