Keepin' It Real...

Before...
I don't know about anyone else, but when I'm up to my you-know-what in "To Do"
lists, I get busy...cleaning! It helps me FOCUS my thoughts, so when I've finished
I can get right back to work - without distractions. Clean it up, then get busy!!

I have an area in the studio that's really been buggin' me so I decided that I'd deal
with it yesterday. It involved emptying a piece of over-stuffed furniture, moving it
to another part of the house (garage) to serve a new purpose, and moving a piece
from another room into the studio. Handsome is up north this week, so I can do a
bit of tearing up without messing up his life, too. I know he'll appreciate that.

Unfortunately, that means all the proverbial heavy lifting is done alone - with the
aid of those fabulous slider pads that you put under furniture to make moving easier.
As soon as I was finished with the emptying, I moved out one piece of furniture
and moved in the other. Right after that, I took two Aleve and made a cup of tea!

So, I'm calling the photograph you're looking at "Utter Chaos". (giggle)
Tomorrow, I'll show you my rearranged, organized, ready-to-roll studio...
as soon as I find a place for everything that's in my face right now.
(Right after I have another cup of tea.)

  2. He, he, Donna, you sound like me! There's nothing like having the man out of the house for a few days to get me to rearranging furniture! Just don't hurt your back! I know those sliders are wonderful, but there's still some tugging involved. I've been working at trying to clean up an area of my work space and it's just messing up everything else! Have a nice day! Twyla

  4. My sewing room has been looking like that for months and is more than bugging me. I've had to work around the mess to get my projects done but the mess is certainly hampering getting some of my other projects done. That might not actually be a bad thing as the last thing I need to do is start more projects. I think I might attempt a tidy-up this weekend as we have a holiday on Monday - Yay! I'm sure your studio will look fab when you're finished.

  5. I am so relieved to see your beautiful studio is "Utter Chaos" mode. It is nice to know I am not alone. I hope Tag is helping you move the heavy stuff. I'm not even moving furniture so I have no excuse for not getting my studio in order. Utter Chaos to Creative Bliss Dear...

  6. It's nice to see that I'm not the only one whose studio gets away from them! I've promised myself and everyone else that there will be no piles on the floor of my sewing room by the end of January. I've still got a week to get it done! Progress is being made, but it's slow. It would probably help if I'd quit ordering more stuff off the internet.
